so i went ahead and rented this game to give it a try. so far i am hating it. cole does very little damage and gets killed very quickly. sure you can just recharge at any powersupply, but what about when your in an area they are not readily available. even if they are, i hate having to constantly worry about where a power supply is because i get killed in 4 seconds... so anyway, maybe i'm doing something wrong?

I just borrowed it from a friend, and I have to say, I'm loving it. It just takes getting used to. And, no offence, you can't be very good. This is my first play through and i have it on hard. Sure, I die a bit, but thats life. Have you ever played through a game without dieing a few times? Oh, and do all the side missions you can, don't attempt a story mission without doing all the sides currently availible. It makes it way easier when you have "safe" areas in the city.

If you dont like worrying about these sort of things, I think you will feel a lil better at home with Prototype instead. I bought inFamous instead of Prototype because of the fact that Prototype's gameplay is albeit over-the-top for my liking. To each his own preferences.

Heres a tip: When you are entering combat, always attack from buildings. WHen you are on buildings, it is harder for them to shoot you and you can still make them drop. BTW I beat this game in hard and found it very easy being on top of buildings to kill my enemies.

It is quite a hard game, but you just have to get used to it. If there are a group of enemies and you are low on health, run away and try to find some electricity somewhere. Stay away from the dark areas. Also, keep your distance and zap them in the heads, take cover when possible. As I've said, it's a hard game and you're going to die a few times, but it's really worth it.

inFamous doesn't even begin to get hard until the 2nd burrough. Even in dark sections I rarely ran out of juice, though. You need to change your strategy.

yeah, this is kinda how infamous starts without that many powers. But give the game a chance! it's an awesome game. Attack from rooftops, do side missions and get Blast Shards, this makes the game alot easier. Have fun! ^_^

It's even easier than that when you're good cause all you need to do is zap bad guys to recharge.

Seriously? I think you're doing EVERYTHING wrong. When I heard the reviewer say you needed to recharge, I thought it was gonna be searching like crazy just to find something that could give me electricity. But there's electricity everywhere! Even in the area's you mentioned. Every freakin' car has a battery. And build up Cole's stamina. I guess that should help you out. And, if you're evil, you can drain an enemy too. That fills your whole gauge again. Or just take cover untill the blood disappears. And if you're good, get the upgrade that refills your gauge a little bit with each bolt that hits its target. It really isn't too hard. It's freakin' epic, which is why I think you shouldn't quit, but it really isn't difficult. Not even on hard.

i don't remember saying anything about it being to hard? what i was saying is that i hate having to constantly stop fighting to find a power supply. pretty lame to me when you get surrounded by bad guys that you have no way to dispose of them all quickly. i mean, kill one, run away to find a power supply where all the guys aren't shooting at you still, kill another, repeat... i'm gonna go ahead and give prototype a try instead. i think that's more my style.

then don't charge in if you can't handle that kind of heat.

anyway, you'll get to unlock more powers as you go through the story (like sticky electric grenades, burst shots, etc.) which would help you kill multiple targets at once... and until you at least get grenades, i wouldn't recommend taking on large groups of enemies while you're positioned on the ground.

also, try collecting blast shards (which a pretty easy to find thanks to your radar) to increase the amount of electric nodes that Cole can use for specials (or whatever those dots are called).

but if you want to quit, that's up to you; no one here can force you to like something which you clearly don't...

Infamous was a pretty damn easy game even on hard.

I didn't find inFAMOUS very hard at all

Just keep recharging and upgrading your powers

inFamous is my favorite game of the year so far (with the exception of Killzone 2).

Just like with any other game, you have to work your way up. Powers will come with time, but there will always be an inherent challenge...the free-roaming combined with the increasing powers and aforementioned challenge is what makes it so great, IMO.

Come on man, pull yourself together.

My first play through was on Hero Hard difficulty and i had no problems.

Its not that hard, if your screen turns grey just suck some juice and itll change back. You dont always have to wait for it.

Sadly enough i only found this out when i got to the final part of the Warren. :D

i already payed for the rental so i've been giving it some more time. it definately does get better the more you play it and get used to the way to handle the action. whoever suggested climbing onto rooftops to handle large mobs of enemies, thanks for that suggestion! works like a charm.

what powers are the best to get in the early stages of the game? i'm on the evil side. how is the arc lightning?

First, try playing it on easy. Sometimes you have to start out from the bottom, to get to the top.

Second, be evil. Its much more easier to play than good, and the game after awhile practically plays itself for you.

Just kidding about that last part. I found this game to be much easier than most sandbox games like GTAIV. Oh well.

its challenging at times but i thought infamous was easy, even on hard. anyway those power supplies are everywhere. and keep an eye on your map to know where the enemies is. and use cover.

You have to turn the power grids on. Just do a few quests in your area that has power to turn power on in other cities.
