I was thinking of buying infamous so what do the people who bought it think of it, was it worth buying?

I personally liked the story (and all the moral choices you make in it) and thought that Cole's powers were super cool whetherhe turned evil or hero. Empire City was also very detailed and big and the combat was good. However, the missions I found were quite reptitive after a while. Seeing that you couldnow pick up the Platinium version for $20, I'd say go and buy it :)
GO BUY IT NOW!
it's not even a question to be honest.
the game is excellent. beautiful detail to the city, a fun, engaging story and a real reason to play through it twice with the karma choices.
BUY IT!
If you like sandbox adventure games then you'll love this game. It takes a little bit to get used to the control method (snapping to surfaces you jump to, etc.) but, once you are, it will be one of the best adventure games you play. Especially for the price :)
There are people with over 100 platinums dude. In relation to the topic, Infamous is a great game and I think it is definitely worth a buy. :DThanks for the advice, do you seriously have 3 platinum playstation trophies!

Loved the game. Great story, awesome gameplay. Some side quests get repetetive and the graphics aren't the greatest but other than that awesome game.
Yeah, its an enjoyable game. Characters are weak, but its the gameplay which is well worth playing it for
I actually decided on saturday to revisit InFamous the next time i got a little time on my hands.
I put it on this afternoon and jumped back into my game (second run through, playing as evil, on hard) and it was just as good as the first time i played it.
An excellent game, and i now aint giving up until i Platinum it!
Guys, if you don't own this game, you damn well should!
Don't start on that. So many of these threads are locked by mods quoting exactly what you said there. If only there was a THREAD for RECOMMENDATIONS ;)

Personally, I don't want to have to wade through hundreds of other peoples posts to find an answer to my question, or read the same question repeated over and over. A dedicated thread per game is much better IMO. Keep these threads coming. Much easier to read thana single massive one.
I've got to disagree with the pack a bit. Honestly, it's a well made game and I enjoyed it for a while, I'd say for about 1/2 the game or more, but I ultimately wound up getting completely bored with it when it became too clear that there was, in my opinion, not enough mission variety. I also didn't find myself caring about anyone or anything in the game. I got to a point where I just didn't see any point in bothering with the game anymore and stopped playing and returned it.albatrossdrums
That is how I felt about the game also. Not too far from the end but the game just got really repetivie and boring. I will say the Boss Fights are good. I do own the game and need to finish it one day. I would say rent.
yeah. i also think the city was a major copy and paste.I personally liked the story (and all the moral choices you make in it) and thought that Cole's powers were super cool whetherhe turned evil or hero. Empire City was also very detailed and big and the combat was good. However, the missions I found were quite reptitive after a while. Even though you're right you'll still probably get modded for this.
I will also disagree a bit with the crowd. I enjoyed the game my first play through (played as good), but the second playthrough (played as evil which Iliked the powers more)a lot of the mechanics started to bug me like the magnetic cover and glitching through objects. It was a fun game, but I just started playing the Saboteur, and although many people will disagree, I am liking it more than Infamous.

its there for a reason :? otherwise we'd have tons of threads just asking what game they should get, eliminating any REAL discussions on hereI'm a huge comic book fan, I love sandbox games, so I bought this game as one of my first titles and I wish I had played the demo on PSN first. I woulda saved some cash. I understand why people think it's great, but it's seriously NOT great in my eyes, play the demo first, play it a few times. It has collected dust with less than 1% completed and will remain so due to snot-poor trade value, that's how fast I lost interest.
BEWARE!!!
Again, if you love the game more power to you & I mean no personal insult when I say this, but it was a bore.
