Just thought I'd see which of the two games people like more. Personally, after just finishing the second, I think the first game is far superior. Some things just felt a little off with Infamous 2.
In my opinion:
Infamous - 9/10
Infamous 2 - 7.5/10

they were both good imo. i liked the story in the first one a bit more but the new powers and the extra features in the second game were awesome.
infamous- 9.0
infamous 2- 8.9
I really like the gameplay and the parkour platforming in inFAMOUS plus the story is actually better but I couldn't care less for the character of Cole. He was just under developed as Sucker Punch just made him a generic looking, acting and sounding character. In inFAMOUS 2 I like the variety of the environments but the city doesn't feel as alive which is ironic seeing as how in the first game the city was almost destroyed with poverty and death everywhere yet still feeling alive, I guess it's mainly because the city of Empire felt 'lived in' whilst the colourful city of New Marais felt empty most of the time.
One thing that really puts inFAMOUS 2 above the first game is the strong characterization of almost everyone. They don't feel like unpolished character models taken out of a 3D modeling software like in the first game, Cole oh man he was such an improvement. The change of voice actor made him more convincing and tbh I feel that because of inFAMOUS 2 I like Cole more than Nathan Drake and I really like Drake. His banter and interaction with Zeke were highlights of the game for me, and I also really like the female leads Kyo and Nix. Story was lacking and kind of trudging along compared to the well paced original but that's because more time was spent to flash out each character in inFAMOUS 2.
Overall I have to say inFAMOUS 2 is a better game due to depth of the characters as well as more power based gameplay.
I like the story and characters of Infamous much more than 2 (I hated Nix and Bertrand)
but Infamous 2's gameplay was much better than 1's
Although I do believe inFamous 2 to be a really good sequel, with all the new powers to be really cool, I prefer the first game. In the first one there were less people with powers, which made Cole seem more special. Plus every choice was done in Cole's head, with him rationalizing each decision instead of listening to 2 different people on what to do.I prefer that because it was Cole justifying it rather than doing it because Nix thought it was cool. Not to mention the ending was really cool. I like both games, but choosing one I pick inFamous 1.-Fromage-
The karma moment presentation in the first game was so good I was disappointed that it wasn't incorporated in much the same fashion in the sequel, and the way Cole thought about the repercussions to his actions was really neat. Because Infamous 2 didn't showcase the important karma moments like the first game I felt the consequences weren't as powerful.
I think inFamous is better than it's sequel. I thought the story was much better, the side missions and NPC characterization was more involving, and the tone was darker. I loved when posters would be on the wall if you were exemplifying good deeds, and being hated if the absolute opposite.
I do think inFamous 2 was better visually and had some awesome powers, but I preferred the voice actor of the original. I hated Zeke's character model in inFamous 2, looked like a post-career Elvis. Also, the side missions including the annoying Ice enemies were repetitive, especially the random missions. The UGC isn't that great and is especially difficult to utilise. But the endings were great.
I just felt inFamous was more impactful, with better moral choices (karma), better NPC moments and a more surprising title (it was a definite sleeper hit).
I liked Infamous 2 a hell of a lot more. City felt more lived in and the missions were better. The plot was better in the first one though
the appeal of INfamous for me was largely the fact that it was something new, the sequel just fell flat for me, the main reason, the story was bland and boring and I hated "new coles" voice, it was insanely annoying and the gameplay wasn't enough to make up for that, it just felt like a cheapened/floaty version of the original.

Hey mate, yeah I felt much the same way. Infamous 2 artistically created nicer environments with variation, plus the powers were mostly great and the karma choices gave you interesting alternatives to use in combat. I prefered Cole in the first game, aswell as Zeke's character despite the stiff animations in cutscenes. Some enemies really were implemented solely to annoy, especially the shotgun ice enemies that took away a lot of health. I played through on the evil side, and must admit I liked the final cutscene.
Hi, how's it going? Yeah, those damn shotgun enemies were aggravating, especially when trying to go for the hard trophy. Yeah, Evil ending is one of my favourite for a long time.
It depends on my mood really, but I gave both of them an 8.5/10 and consider them Sony's best games this gen.
The first game felt like it had a proper formula and it kept me moving along because it always felt like I was making progress. The second felt all over the place, but it had much better gameplay. So at the end of the day, I think I prefer the second.
I feel the same. I didnt care too much for all the mutant monsters but overall there were more factions, and they were all thrown in together far better than in Infamous. Cole's powers were better. The graphics were enhanced. Overall it just was a better game. Both are still great though.inFamous 2 is one of the best sequels. It fixed/improved practically everything from the first

Not bad thanks mate, you? Even though I didn't enjoy the game as much as I'd hoped too, I still need to at least pursue the "good" path in the future for the alternative plot path and powers. I couldn't see myself playing through on hard though, that might try my patience lol :P
I find 2 to be better at almost everything, the only exception being the side characters.

same i find infamous 2 better than 1. my only problem with 2 is that it take very few shots to turn the screen black and white which is annoying. byt the games is outstanding. infamous festival of blood on the other hand was a let down, it a gliched mess and the graphics are not on par with infamous 2. infamous is one of the better open world games. imho the only other open world game that is good is assassin creed the rest are all boring.

I'm going to go out on a limb and assume you didn't play Just Cause 2 then... It's the furthest a game has gone with the concept of sandbox yet. Having fun earns you the game's currency which can be spent on cool toys that increase the amount of fun to be had... It's a blast

I completely understand. Oh, and don't expect anything good from the missions in Just Cause 2. As soon as you can just explore and do whatever you want. Look up some videos on youtube to get a sense of some of the creative and crazy things that are possible in this game.
I wish more people uploaded crazy stunts from the inFAMOUS games. You can never really find anything other than walkthroughs of these games unfortunately.

Just Cause 2 is definitely a great achievement where open world sandbox is concerned. I've never seen such a massive world like that before, and lush detail and draw distance is very impressive. And having a game focusing on causing chaos and explosions is always fun. :P
