Then what would be the point of in-game XMB ? It's not only videos, but not being able to access the PSN store ? You could be playing a game, and decide to get some add-on content. But no, because our in-game XMB is a half-a$$ job.

I'm not lazy, but if I just made an update to have In-game XMB, I want to actually be able to use it for somthing.

Agree. I mean, it's like you can hardly call this In-game XMB.
So I just downloaded 2.41, and tried In-game XMB. You can't play videos, you can't play music, you can't access the PSN store. What the hell can you do with it ? This is not In-game XMB. Sony fooled us. The competition does it better, with In-game XMB that actually makes it's purpose. And I'm a Sony loyal, make no doubt about that.Tony_MontanaAnother whiner? This is becoming ridiculous.

I feel you, most of the features are for the future....

Stop complaining, before they showed the vids for 2.4, the only thing they said would be in 2.4 was "In-Game Communication", which we have, this little music thing didn't have to come now nor the trophies.

the ps3 isnt designed to run movies while your running a game, its a single application unit. you cant even run movies while running a game on most computers. the whole point of the ingame xmb was to be abled to message friends and to add your own tracks to SOME games, they didnt fool us either. they did an in depth walkthrough and made it clear that you would have to exit game to do those things.

What an efficient way to use a 7-core processor. (Sarcasm)

It also has to do with the size of the OS's footprint. But you seem to know what you're talking about, so why not ask Sony for a job and code it all yourself? It's pretty simple to do, right?

You're a bloody idiot. Who the hell watches videos while playing a game? In Game XMB is mainly souly meant for messageing, which I and ALOT of people are happy for. You just need to find something to always nag about. ..I hate people -_-

well the cell processer is an advanced videocard :P, you need more ram to run video, and a few other components.

yea because the xbox 360 does all that right? MAn shutup. in-game xmb is what it is. All that i wanted was to be able to accept and message friends in game. Damnnn you babies are pathetic. You wanna watch a video during gameplay? Dumbest thing ive heard yet but by all means QUIT THE GAME AND WATCH YOUR VIDEO. Then restart the game. It really doesnt take that long. Ridiculous thread.
at least we have it now all games that come out from now on will have it.
and its not sony its the people that make the games if they want to put patchs in the updates

The ram is used for all the small details in the games that ignorant people like you will never notice but the rest of us regonize with happiness.

then just do what you always have done before this update, quit the game. things will be unlocked with future updates(given that devs give the green light on the music part) and all of the lazies will be happy. Is it as good as it can be? no, but complaining about it?.....dude.

Why don't you Microsoft fans reasearch and see that the only purpose of 2.40 is to do in-game communication?
Did Sony not tell everyone that it wouldn't support certain features?:? Besides they have plenty of time to work on it, the best thing to do was get the base of the XMB out there for the online community so they can message and sort out features etc.
Why get your hopes up when Sony tell you what it can and can't do in the first place:S
People are complaining about getting certain features omitted(that were never mentioned to begin with)? This is what makes software so unique to any other product, you can update purchased products! Can car companies update your car? can Maytag update your washing machine? can you update your T.V set ? no you cant, so you shouldn't expect to have everything all at once. If they can add those features they can still add them later on. you have two options:
1. wait to get everything at once(so you dont feel cheated), but add an extra 6 months wait time.
2. or two get some of the features out now, then add the rest when its ready.
Ill choose option 2. Oh, and you forgot that they also added trophies this update. That's something that i'm sure they wanted to get out as soon as possible, so developers can start including it into their games.

They even gave us trophies and in-game music. What I and probably most people wanted was to be able to see my messages without leaving my game and that's what we got, but Sony even gave us extra things and why can't we be happy with their work? Seriously!! they didn't have to give us trophies or anything else!!! and you know why? Because people don't appreciate what people do for other people anymore. Sad!
