Hey, I just got word from an employee of big game dev company (can't name which) that the PS3 controller actually rumbles... check it out:

http://gamer.blorge.com/2007/09/13/insider-source-i-saw-the-new-playstation-3-contoller-and-it-rumbles/

"She wouldn't mention if she had a chance to get her hands on one, but she knows for a fact that they rumble and are heavier, although not as heavy as an Xbox 360 controller."

yeah i like that its heavier, personally 360 controller is a good weight, and a little bit less with the dualshock 3 hits the spot perfectly!

Yeah and know why its only got one weight. And thats thanks to immersions touchsense tech which will provide more accurate vibrations while reducing weight and consuming less battery. Rumble is last gen. Touchsense is next gen

Rumble is not "old". It has been an essential part of controllers since the rumble pack came out for the N64 controllers. Not that you'll notice the difference much.

Hope it will come out before GTA4. You do know what that means: GTA4 will have the same functionality as the X360 version, PLUS any Sixaxis thingy Rockstar might implement.

I really dont care that much about rumble, but still this is good news. Especially for people who love rumble. Nice to see sony is listening to what people want.

I don't care much about rumble. I care about this new controller because it's a great sign that Sony is paying attention to people's complaints about PS3. I'll probably pick one of these up just because I'll need one more controller soon, but I still don't care much about vibration.

Why does everyone keep calling it dualshock 3. It can still be called Sixaxis you know or maybe some new name. With the whole dualshock 3 you kinda forget all about the motion sensor.
