Interested in buying, but a few question.

Hi. I'm interested in buying a PS3 for Christmas, but I'd like to know a few things about them first.

Is theBlu-Ray player in the PS3 a piece of crap? Will I be getting the same quality player if I buy a PS3 versus an actual Blu-Ray player?

Secondly, does the 40GB, 60GB, OR 80GB model come WITH an HDMI cable? I was wondering because I have an HDTV, but it would really suck if I had to pay an additional 80 dollars to play games in true high definition (one of the PS3's obvious strong points).

And lastly, how long is the PS3's warranty?

The warranty I'm not sure about...I think its a year. It does not come with an HDMI cable...but you are mistaken, only a few of the PS3's games are in 1080p. The rest are downscaled to the next "p" resolution your TV has. Be it 720p or 480p. The PS3 doesn't naturally upscale. Buy an HDMI cord off of Ebay for cheap.

And the Blu-Ray player is nice, I notice no problems with it.

The Blu-ray player is excellent. I have seen several different stand-alone players hooked up, as well as my PS3, and the PS3 is just as good as any of those.

As for the HDMI cable, no, it doesn't come with them but fret not my friend, you can find high quality HDMI cables online for $5-10....I'll look for the link I bought mine from in a bit. Do NOT pay in-store prices as they rape you with their prices.

As for the warranty, I'm pretty sure it comes with a one year warranty, just be sure to keep your receipt because Sony requires a receipt if your system requires service.

Wow, that REALLY sucks about the resolution... I thought for SURE that the PS3 and all of its games were 1080p. I guess I'll settle for 720p. Do you also know if it is Wi-FI compatible? Thanks for your help.B_man55

I got my PS3 with the HDMI for free and the blu-ray player is pretty cool if u use it like me.:D
