There was a similar topic to this awhile back and I still feel the same way. As long as it was limited to items from that developer than I think it could work, but if you could earn points from a completely different game and buy another game for free with it, that would severely hurt developers.The_Rick_14
That is a good point. So like completing a task in uncharted 2 to get the jaks skin?
Then the developers wouldn't be seeing any money for this content. The achievements are just that: showing off your achievements.
It wont beat the Xbox achievemnets simlpe but higly addictive
Will the achivements be similer to the Xbox ones? like on COD4 complete mile high club on veteran

Actually I was thinking like finish Uncharted 2 and get a new gun or clothing option for free for Uncharted 2. But thinking about your way, that might actually encourage people to buy the developers other games so that might actually be better.

well any achievement system is stupid in my eyes, but I'd rather get a digital trophy than an extra 5 nothing added to my total amount of nothings
I have been reading a lot about how Sony's achievement system will go far beyond what the 360's system is like and I got to thinking....
"What if the achievement points can be used as a sort of currency for PSN or for purchasing game related characters, weapons, clothing, etc.?"
For instance, say you played MGS4 and got every last achievement and then you could use those achievements to purchase MGS related stuff on the PSN or within the game like different characters, weapons, skins, vehicles, etc.
Your thoughts?dooguesgoober4
maybe .... currency for home items ?(Tvs couched wallpaper) etc
