Sony has released a new free kit for developers regarding the PSP and the PS3. it includes a lot of new features which are supposed to make development much easier.
The article refers to grid compiling and a few miner upgrades, nothing the average joe needs to see. Just means the time from source code to executable is drasticly reduced meaning you can tweak/fix quicker. Insomniac for example does about 5 compiles a day.
Definitely great news for PS3 owners, but we won't be seeing the benefits of this for probably another year or so.
Part of that article that gave me faith... "Indeed, with the PlayStation 2, there was a steep learning curve that developers had to overcome, thus leading to the most successful gaming console ever".
Hopefully, we'll all be experiencing Deja vu here in the next few years.
