Every wireless router that I know of now a days is at least 54Mbps.  Unless you have an older one.

I don't see why it would require at least 30Mbps, since most peoples internet connection is no faster the 1-5Mbps (cable/dsl internet) download speed and even less for an upload speed.  (note: little b means bites, not bytes)

Did some best buy employee tell you this, because I had one tell me I had to have at least a G+ router, not just a G, but in reality, he just wanted me to spend more money.  I just looked at him and said I'll just buy this G router.

I use the Netgear WGR614, which you can get at bestbuy for only 50 dollars and had no problem.  Also I note the router is only like 30-50 feet away and in a different room from the ps3.  If you need to go past 60 feet, I would maybe look into a G+ router, they usually have a farther range.

Hmm I'm wondering... that's a good question because I just got my PS3 on 4/15 and it says my wireless connection is only at 45%. How do I get it higher? Maybe I need a better wireless router.......

45% should be strong enough, I wouldn't worry about it.

im sure any modern router will be able to be used with your ps3..

that is one of the great things i liked with the ps3..is that the wi-fi is seamless in connection to your acess points from yuor router..

Linksys routers are pretty amazing if you ask me. I have one that has 7 internal antenna's. Really tho, any router will work. My friend got one from wal-mart for like $35. It works with PS3 just fine, range is another story tho. Only thing you need to consider when getting a router these days is range really. But if the PS3 will be somewhat close to the router, any modern router will do ;)

I honestly had problems with using the WiFi to connect to my router (I actually tried it on a Linksys and a d-link).  It would just disconnect and reconnect on and off.  I even tried it at a friends house on his. Did the same thing. So I just hooked it up with an ethrenet cable.  Maybe it was something with my PS3's WiFi (Remote play worked just fine though.  ???).

Though, I did have to return my PS3 for another problem so maybe my new one would work better.  Guess I'll have to test it. :P
