Is there still the problem with transferring songs from an ipod to ps3?

Cause I enabled flash drive use with my 30 gig and dragged and dropped all my album folders into my ipod. I connected my ipod and all my albums pop up perfect. I assume it'll be the same with any external hard drive.

No it works perfectly. You just have to hit triangle and display all. Then your stuff will show up and you can add it to your PS3 HDD.

Ok I have a opposite question of him: Can I transfer files from my PS3 to the Ipod ? because i am thinking about updating my HardDrive and I don't want to lose all my demo, pictures and game saved files I have on the PS3. If this work..... after installing a larger HardDrive into my PS3...... I will transfer all those files in the ipod back into the PS3.

if you enable disc use on the ipod I couldn't see a reason why not, it basically becomes a portable hard drive

I have to set this up from Ipod manually or by connecting the Ipod into the PC and then do it?

its through the setting in itunes. Connect and open itunes check the box that says enable disc use just as an added note in order to get album art you must assign it to the folder the album is in when you drag and drop

you wont see titles if you just connect your ipod. If you have an extensive music collection you might have to erase it off the ipod or you could make several trips back and fourth. Enable disc use(its an option when you open itunes) and then drag and drop the album folders you want on the ipod. If you want album art you have to make it the art for the particular folder. After your ipod is ready conenct it to the ps3 and then triangle display all it will read teh ipod as if it was a portable hard drive so it takes a bit of time not much. It will display folders which should be album titles or artist names depending on how you organize your music folders. It will display your folders in alphabetical order. for example I put every album into its own folder and title the folder by the album's name. So when I display on the ps3 It organizes A-Z my albums you could with sub folders perhaps make it list artist then album. If you have the time on your hands.

On my itunes, the "Enable disk use" is check but it not highlighted meaning that I can't uncheck it or check it. Do I have to follow these steps first?: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93651

When I went into my computer, and when i click the ipod icon, there were three folders there: Calendars, Contacts, and Notes. How did you do it, use your ipod as a Disk?

no idea, try converting it to a supported format. Using the ipod as a portable HDD works much better than just plugging in the ipod, been listening to "Potemkin City Limits" mmmmm

ime: an ipod formatted on pc can play everything easy a pie.  an ipod formatted on a mac won't be detected at all.  in regular mode or hard disk mode.  if anyone can contradict this or has a way around it please let me know.
