Is 12/31/2012 really going to have that many quality releases that day?

If Gamestop's release date schedule is accurate, there's going to be one hella New Year's Eve. According to the list the following games are scheduled to release that day:

The Last of Us

Beyond: Two Souls

Crysis 3

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2

X-COM

Metro: the Last Night

That's one crazy release day. One thing though, I cannot fathom why SONY would cannibalize their 2 Major console exclusives(yeah, I know GOW4 is also coming) by releasing them on the same day. That is the dumbest move on their part. Why not move up the Last of Us to the week before Christmas, it might help them move a few of those new slims.

So is this schedule accurate?

They have that date because there isn't a specific release date for them and they were due out the last quarter of 2012, thus the Dec 12 date. The Last of Us is definitely going to be released next year instead of this year.

Well just for future reference, tons of online sites do this when they don't know a release date for a game. If it's on the 1st or last day of the month, always not real, unless that release date is already known. :P

Which it's not. Simply put, Dec. 31st is a placeholder date until they can confirm the real date.

Don't worry, this has fooled me before, then I saw several other games that had the same date and realized that the official release dates for them were yet to be announced.
