Is 20$ to much for a piece of DLC?

The Black Ops 'First Strike' DLC was just release for the Playstation 3.

I tried the new map pack and had high expectations. But i was kinda disapointed.

Do you think they should lower their price for it, as it is only 5 new maps? (Ascension) (Berlin Wall) (Discovery) (Kowloon) (Stadium)

It's 3 dollars a map same as other First Person Shooters.

Example.

Killzone2, 2 maps $5.99.

I think thats rediculous if the map pack was 20$ i think thats the most i have heard for a DLC map pack before. you can buy some good games for that price

EDIT : just for the records its only 15$ why would you say 20 thats a pretty big difference

Are you kidding? The Call of Duty map packs are always pathetically priced, I feel sorry for anyone that actually purchases it for that price. Cheap games are worth that, but not a couple of maps.

sad thing about CoD DLC is they probably had the maps ready before the game went out therefore they could have just included it with the game but instead they know they can suck more money from people by waiting till everyone is tired of the current maps and puts out "new" ones

$20 is a crime for a map pack IMO...Activision could charge you your first born baby and people would still buy CoD though. I'm just thinking of PC games where much of the community makes their own maps and releases them for free and they are great..

Honestly the maps should be FREE..you already paid $60 for the game and they made MILLIONS, the least they could do is throw in some free maps..but nope, Bobby Kotick decides he needs a few more houses.

Wait, Is it $15 or $20? I thought it was $15 which is bad enough. I know alot of people paid last time when it was $15, so I guess I shouldn't be surprised either way. If they did charge $20 they'd probably get alof of sales still. It just seems crazy to me that people pay so much for such a little amount of content. I don't even like paying $20 for full downloadable games, but a map pack? Hell no.

This. Some would be worth it, like UN, Dragon Age:Awakenings, GTA4 Liberty City Stories, and etc. A few maps would never be worth that price to me. I'd pay maybe a dollar per map.

1. It's only $15. And as mentioned above many games are priced at $3.00 a map so I don't see it as a big deal

2. People act like Call of Duty is the only game with expensive add ons. Bad Company 2 Vietnam costs $15 for example.

Yah but think about that you got a whole new setting, like 4-5 maps game modes and weapons it was not a bad deal really maps did have some issues though as far as fairness but it was fun. I think its a rip off if a game reaches certain sales they should offer free maps like this considering it sold like what 5 million copies so quickly they should reward their loyal fans with something like this first map pack for free instead they just made another 75 million or so if most people bought the map packs

For me, it's definitely too expensive. I purchase full retail games at 20$ when they drop in price sometimes and certainly can't consider DLC for the same price fare in any way.

People vote with their wallets, if certain amount of 20$ DLC continues to sell, expect to see it more in future.

To answer the topic question - it depends what it is and whether people will pay that price for it.

As for Black Ops specifically I gather it is priced at the same sort of price per map as anything else so....

Call of Duty isn't the only game that has expensive add-ons. That pass thing for Bad Company which was $10 and never added any NEW maps? Remember that? Let me remind you that you are NOT forced to buy the maps. If $15 is too much for you to throw away then simply don't buy it and move on.

Pretty much what I was going to put. It depends on what is on offer and what the pricing of similar type DLC is on games in the same genre (if offered).

Only you can answer that for yourself and no-one else. What I feel would be worth $20 may not be to many others, simple as that.

I've paid for some DLC that I feel is worth that and more (loved what Borderlands offered), so potentially I'd say $20 could be OK... it's all down to your own personal opinion and that's that.

It came with 5 new maps A new setting 15 new weapons 6 new vehicles 2+hours of new music That's not a bad deal. 15$ for poorly designed maps is.
