I'm curious if my 40GB PS3 will survive COD4, Madden, GTA 4, Devil May Cry, Haze, MGS 4,Killzone 2 and all the other hits coming out.

of course the 40 gb will survive. And if by chance you'd run out of space upgrade your hdd it's not like it's really hard to do. I have 11 games and have used up only 15gb of space (that's including adding additional themes/wallpapers/etc).

save files are only like 256 kb sooo yeahhh u should be fine i hope.... u'd need over 1,500 game saves to exceed 1GB of space in game saves alone

You forgot to mention that some games on the playstation 3 require an instalation that can take up1GB or 2GB. Which is pretty big. But you should do find if you don't pack up the PS3 with loads of crap.

Just swap out the 40GB hard drive for a 120GB or something if you're worried about space.

actually theres also the game data thingy for each game Assasins creed alone takes up 2gb's of space on my harddrive

Of course it is, it is a contender out of the box and it has plenty of possibilities for upgrades so in the long run the only thing thats gonna affect the 40 gb is the lack of backwards compatibility which i bet isnt gonna be a big demand as the coming months bring us the big ps3 titles and ps2 and ps games will become a thing of history, so the 40 gb is definitely as great as its 80 gb counterpart in about every way
