The PSP has quite a good selection of games at the moment. Personally, I like the platformers and Strategy RPG's: Daxter, Ratchet and Clank, Disgaea, Jeanne D'Arc, and FF Tactics.

You say you'll be playing the games in your room. So the games you want to play, are they not available on the consoles? If not then buy the psp, coz it's more than playing games, you can store pictures, music, videos, browse the web, listen to the radio, use skype, ect...

You probably wont only play games all the time and use it other functions.

There are a lot of fun games on it (if thats what youre only going to have it for), so its worth buying.

I speak for personal experience and taste.

Honestly i do not think it is worth buyin g a portable to play while you are home, you are better off buying a home console for that. I bought a PSP on launch day 3 years ago and barely got any use out of it but last week i went to Vegas and i loved GoW on the plane and before bed.

It is a good system but might not be for you. Then again you are the only one that knows

I don't Really know, its a great system, but most of the psp esclusives have been and are being ported to the ps2 [ Silent hill origins, twisted metal: head on, Ratchet and clank size matters, Grand Theft Auto liberty city stories, Grand Theft Auto Vice city stories, Syphon Filter dark mirror. Also the ps2 is the only last generation console they still make new games for. So i think i would go with a used ps2 at gamestop because they are only like only 60 bucks.

Well that depends on if you find the games interesting, like others said there are a bunch of great games on the PSP. So if you find the games interesting interesting then get they system and have fun playing them. And it's ok to play PSP games anywhere.
