The game seems to be a real drag the first hour in...I have no ambition to play it so does it get better?

I'm about 2.5 hours in and am liking it. The beginning does force you to play with the lady outfit, so yes the beginning is kind of boring. But once that sequence is over you leave new orleans and get back into the assassin outfit and the game gets back on track (at least it doesn't take a good 4 hours to get started like AC3 does, but in the long run those 4 hours are needed).
I say play on for a couple more hours to let the game open up.
Yep.. There are some bit more interesting linear ares to experience later in the game.I'm about 2.5 hours in and am liking it. It gets better. It doesn't ever get very good, but it gets better. Personally I was super disappointed with the game. It's easily my least favourite retail Vita game I own, and I own 7 games. The combat isn't very good, the world isn't particularly interesting to explore like the console games and the missions aren't very interesting either. On top of that there's some seriously annoying glitches. I forced myself to get through the game, and to be honest I wish I didn't waste that much time on a game that wasn't even very fun for the most part. It has some good things going for it, but far too much of the game is a chore. Feel free to keep playing and form your own opinion though.
Yeah, I thought it was kind of a chore to get through to be honest. Really impressive graphics and absolutely fantastic music though so it's not a total loss. To be fair, this is my first AC game and I'm not sure I'd like the series in general. Seems like scaling the side of a building should require more effort than just holding a shoulder button and pointing the joystick towards it--but maybe that's just me.
What I want to know is why is the start of the game blurry? To be fair.. I only demoed the game but the first 5 min looked blurry and the framerate was low to the point of lagging when your the little girl running through the city. I didn't play more than 5 min as I was in a rush but I thought possibly the Vita I demoed was screwed up, or is it purposesly blurred j(and slow) at the beginning? If so wonder why it dragged like that. I played other Vita games and wasn't near that slow. I probably should have spent more time with it.

That part is very slow, but that's likely an intentional move since your just playing as a child. Once you flash forward she becomes faster (though not ever as fast as the console game assassin's, or at least it doesn't seem like it, but it's not by any means as slow as the beginning). As for blurry, that was also probably intentional, as I have not noticed it anywhere else in the game. At least its intro isn't as long as the one for AC3 (well, in the long run it helped set up the story, but 4 hours was a bit long for an intro).
