the only part that upset me is that i thought they were really going to utilize the ps3's power fully but if you're putting it on the 360 then thats obviously not the case.
oh and there are better series than kingdom hearts, don't bother fighting me though. i'm an adult, i'll win..... and probably go to jail
I know wat you mean, now we gonna have a tone down version of what the gamewas really supposed to beda_illest101
How is that? they are working on the PS3 version now and haven't began working on the 360 yet.
At e3, to my suprise (er, horror) square enix revealed that final fantasy 13 was going to be released on both the xbox360 and ps3 with not even a difference in the release date. Now i know that ff7 and 8 were on the pc, and ffXI was on 360 but never really were acclaimed on it. i feel annoyed; it seems they want to expand to the game to other buyers, but it kinda feels like to me that playstation has lost something exclusive. Does anyone feel te same? or am i just crazy? well more crazy than i already knew?mooperman50
what you lack in timing, you make up for it in spirit...
yes it sucks a bit, but it's old news... don't make me go get the 'wow! old news is so exciting!' picture :|

How did the playstation lose FF as an exclusive? Wasn't the nintendo the first to have the FF series? I don't care which system has it honestly. I wish most games would come out on various platforms. It can only help the games to make profits and good game series last.
So no... not annoyed at all.

man y do u care just more money for squre to hopefully make a new front mission game
well in the first couble of days i was very very upset but now i am cool
and SE says that they have a huge annoucment for PS3 ..
Shocked not annoyed, I prefer vs13 anyway which will most likely come out before 13. I just love the look of versus although I would buy both since I love FFSwift_Boss_A
I like it that they are making FFXIII a mature game. That makes me interested in it. Whether it will be a good game or not is questionable. SE doesn't normally do fighting games and I think there are tons of good fighting games getting ready to come out like SF4 and Tekken 6 so this game is gonna have a lot to live up to.
For everyone saying the PS3 version will be dumbed down read this
GameSpy: There's been quite a bit of commentary around the Internet following the announcement that the game's coming to 360, both good and bad, so what is the response of the team, specifically in regards to the negative commentary?
Kitase: There are many different kinds of negative comments, but the one that stands out particularly is that the move to multiplatform is very bad because it means that we won't maximize the new features of each piece of hardware and will kind of become more generic so that it can fit both platforms, but, as mentioned earlier, the game is going to be completed for the PS3 first, so we're going to maximize our use of that hardware and take advantage of all of its features, creating the game specifically tailored to the PS3 and then transition to the Xbox 360 and exploit that hardware to its fullest. So, the team is confident in the power of both platforms and not worried about that part at all.
what really pises me off is that x360 fans used to say FF is trash and we dont need it
now they are hyping about it :S
When I first heard about it two weeks ago I was little pissed but now enough time has passed I dont really care.metocman1
my thoughts

It has to be feasible on the 360. An rpg taking full advantage of the ps3 would not be possible on the 360. Thus FF13 gets watered down, chopped up, castrated.. They will not release a 7 disc box set for one game on the 360..So, something has got to give..probably alot of something..took me awhile to cool down over the loss of this game..but oh well..time to craigslist this thing and upgrade the PC I suppose.

If this news upsets you then you are a sad fanboy. Why would allowing more gamers the ability to play a great game annoy you. It's time to grow up an realize console preference is ok but when it grows into fanboyism it's time to go outside and get some fresh air.
Who REALLY cares? It doesn't affect anyone negatively except fanboys.pyromaniac223
It affects everyone who was looking forward to this game..regardless of what system you own. See my post above. This game WILL be very compromised because of this. Anyone seriously excited about this game would have wanted it the way it was meant to be..and you would have bought a ps3 for it. Now everyone gets to play it sure..but we're all getting a half assed version of it.

HOw will it be half assed? God your another sad fanboy. Honestly PS3 has been known to have the inferior versions on alot of games. I own both a PS3 and 360. Both have great exclusives. But I have yet to see the PS3 outperform the 360. I don't think I will see it. Because the engines these games are built on are designed for both. I honestly wonder how anyone can feel these games will be inferior on more than one system.[QUOTE="oldscratch82"][QUOTE="pyromaniac223"]Who REALLY cares? Because of its shorter wavelength (405 nm), substantially more data can be stored on a Blu-ray Disc than on the DVD format, which uses a red (650nm) laser. A dual layer Blu-ray Disc can store 50 GB, almost six times the capacity of a dual layer DVD.
Source.
Things like THIS will never happen.

Fact is the only use the blu-ray has yet to have is allow programmers less need to compress there data. No game to date has ever surpassed the data of two DVD discs. Maybe 5 years from now but not now.
i was annoyed not because they jumped, but because someone at sony just isn't doing the right things.
assasins creed couldve been an exclusive system seller. they should have extended the timed exclusive for gta4, and exclusives to ut3 (so it didn't have to rush into the holiday season in such a crowded area, thus selling more units). and what is it with the lack of advertising on tv for their own exclusives. and none of the jrpgs are landing on ps3...
it isn't necessarily a fanboy thing, but the industry isn't giving sony the best it could have because someone in sony isn't learning from its misstep during launch and xbox360 gets the cream of the crop versions. so people like me who can only afford 1 system right now isn't getting the best options out there. i'm still going to get in the game, but i'm not trying to see ps3 become the next saturn/dreamcast-good system that suprisingly failed
What is the big deal, so what.
GlitchBox 360 gets a handme down. Square Unix wanted more market share and SONY found it cheaper to let them produce on Mulitplatforms. Its about the money poeple. YOu worry about this but what ab out the price of gas, economic crisis, tha President DumbAss has put us in.
FFXIII going multipltform is the least of your worries.

also metal gear solid 4 was over 30gb which already surpasses your average dvd disc which is 4gb or if if its dual layer then about 8gb but 8+8 is 16gb which means games have surpassed the data of 2 dvd disc
it is possible. the cell processor is jsut a processor in the end and all consoles have processor. the xbox just has to work harder but since if SE cuts the game into multiple disc for xbox (UNLIKE ps3 which owns in this case) it takes loads off the processor.
you know... i think im a fanboy. yes i know i'm pitiful but _____ xbox
