For those PSP 3000 owners does the scanline issue bothers you? Also I dunno if my eyes are playing tricks on me but it feels like sometimes the LCD sort of flicker (not literally) flicker brightly for a fraction of a second, I do not know how to exactly describe it... Any opinions?
I have never really noticed it, but then, the 3000 was my first one...I have heard from some owners of previous models that it is not as good as it used to be.
I used to own a PSP-1000 and my brother has a PSP-2000. About a year and a half ago or so, I sold my 1000 because I momentarily lost interest in gaming in general. Then, a few months later, I broke and bought a PSP-3000 Rock Band Unplugged pack unaware of the "issue". To be honest, I never noticed any differences in display other than the more vivid colors on the 3000 screen. Maybe I'm lucky and the problem skipped me, or maybe the problem is exaggerated. I'm happy with my 3000.

I've never noticed them. Everyone goes on and on about how bad the 3000 screen is. 97% of the time, once the game starts up i don't even notice the smudges on it. You know, just like the random spots you can wipe off. People always need something to rant about though....Whether it's the 3000's screen sucks...or the GO sucks. So you never know. I take the stuff on here with a grain of salt
I seriously don't know what people are complaining about when they gripe about scanlines on the 3000. If you're worried about them, don't be. I have no problems with them at all, and the shine-proof screen and bright colors are pretty great.
I played a 3000 last night, worried about the scanlines, but in the end I only noticed them if I really tried. The only issue was the much-ballyhooed higher contrast ratio, I don't like my blues looking like purples...
I seriously do not mind the scanline if only I hadn't knew about it, thanks to the internet for blowing it out of proportion, now my eyes can't stop and stare at the scanlines, I didn't noticed or knew at all, all these whiners just ruined it for me :\
