I own 20 games (lending 2 out though), yet I can't bring myself to play any of them. I don't game much during the week due to different priorities so weekends are my time to play if I'm not out. Well, today I'm not out, and I'm looking at my game collection and I don't want to play any of them to be honest. I wish I could play online, but my internet is to slow so I'm stuck with 20 single player games that I've played quite a bit of but simply don't want to go on in. I own God of War III and haven't beat it... thing is I want to, but I'm stuck at this ridiculously hard part on titan, and I don't want to frustrate myself. So either I don't want to get frustrated on a part, or I don't want to get bored. Does anyone else ever feel like this? This is one of the few days I literally have not much else to do.

I'm very particular about the videogames I buy. PS3's I buy for exclusives, which I have about 10 or so on the PS3. With the exception of FF13, RE5, that I purchased on PS3 because I feel they BELONG to the PS3 brand, and not multi-platform gaming :P I'm not bored at all, but sometimes I prefer to just be surfing on the web, rather than playing games. I just get burned out after a while even if I'm playing a great game. It's suppose to be fun, not a chore or a job. Sounds like you need games with great multi-player online. Single-player action just doesn't cut it for me. Even though I play very little MP online compared to others, I still like to have it available. Take a break, downtime is always good, then come back and play it again.

But my birthday is Easter Monday, so that will change...

Well you could always take out a gamefly rental account? Try playing all the games for PS3. I must always have a big library of games for my systems. I sometimes get fed up with my games at times as well. That is normal.

I'm also very particular about which games I buy, and even then I end up selling back a lot of games. I have 12 games in my collection at the moment, and other than FIFA 09 and MLB 09, I'm bored with all of them. I hate trophies, and I even make a conscious effort to avoid trophy hunting once I've completed a game. It hurts the experience

How the hell does trophy hunting AFTER you've completed a game hurt the experience? I always play through a game once without looking at trophies. Trophy hunting can ruin your first playthrough I'm sure (if you "trophy hunt" in Heavy Rain it would be ruined). But without trophies I rarely play any games a 2nd time. Before PS3 of all the games I've "beaten" - probably 95% I never played again. At least trophies are a reason to go back through a 2nd time, try to find hidden areas, max difficulty, try to get combos in a fighting game, odd little goals to accomplish in a shooter, etc... seems fun to me. Even with trophies I haven't tried to 100% too many PS3 games yet, but there are a few I'm sure I will.

I have over 80 PS3 games and I usually do feel like that but I do end up playing Saints Row 2 online when I get bored but for now I'm not bored as Yakuza 3 is keeping me busy.

I keep all my games in some sort of rotation. Play one, get bored of it, move on to another thing until I get bored of that, move back. I've learned to do that when I've realized I don't have money to burn lol

Sometimes I get bored with my games. I have around 13 with 2 lent out. (Batman, and UFC 2009). And whenever I get bored with my games I turn back to NHL 10 and just churn out games on my Be A GM Mode. For some reason I never get tired of that game.

To be honest it's pretty similar. But is that a bad thing? 09 was awesome. The thing about NHL 10 is that everything just seems smoother. The controls, and the animations are all better. And the added board play is a huge improvemnet for me. Its very useful and doens't change the pace of the game at all. It didn't get as good of a review score, but in my mind its a better game.

Now im gonna buy either BFBC2 or MAG, dont know which one to get hmm

nelson415

from what Ive heard, BFBC2 works a little smoother (dont have to deal with 40 bad connections at the same time) and the destructibility is awesome, but frankly, if you can afford it, get both.

This is one of the few days I literally have not much else to do.

i only buy the games i really want, not just anything that catches my eye. My PS3 collection so far is (in order): Killzone 2 inFAMOUS Assassin's Creed 2 God of War Collection Burnout Paradise God of War 3 MAG (i won it! i've yet to play it though) and i love all of them (except MAG as of yet)

I do the same thing man. I can honestly say I love every game in my well rounded collection. I have 3 FPSes, 2 RPGs, 5 racers, 3 hack'nslashes, 2 sports (if you count Skate 2), 4 action adventures and an open world game. All are great games in my opinion that have stood the test of time through the fact that I haven't traded them in (I trade in any games that I know I won't play). That doesn't change the fact that I have nothing I want to play.

Heh, it seems like your mind still wants to be outside :). It's good you get out a lot. Don't sweat it. Lots of people lose interest in their hobbies from time to time and I wouldn't read much into it. You sound like a normal person who just can't be bothered with games today. No biggie.

I think you're right. I'll give it a week or so. I'll probably be dying to get back on the gamepad by then. Thanks for the reassurance.

No, I have plenty of games right now that are keeping me occupied. FF13, Heavy Rain, Dante's Inferno, etc. I even have more on the way in Resonance of Fate and Borderlands. I doubt I'll ever be bored with my PS3 library.

Because when I spend so much time grinding through a game just to acquire trophies, it leaves a sour taste in my mouth, even after I've played through it. That's how.

I have ran into this problem many many times. Thats what MW2 is for. Thats my "Backup" game. a game that i only play when im in a gaming rut. Right now im in the middle of GOW3 and just bought FFXIII, and with GTA IV DLC for the PS3 ill be good for a while. Then after all that Super Street Fighter IV comes out and ill be good for a very long time.

Whenever I get to the point of being bored of playing games, I find its due to a result of playing too much. My solution isn't to buy more games, its to take a break.

Sounds like you need internet or at least a new modem...and a good fps to keep you company...I have around 20 games, 7 of which are fps...I also have a few single player games just in case my internet starts to suck which is not very often...Or you get tired from gaming to much

for me the best way is to trade games in regularly, while they are still fairly new and worth something.

I only have around 5 games but have owned around 50 or 60. As soon as you finish a game think will you ever play it again or will you miss it ? if no then trade it in

Also, puy old pre-pwned games to keep your costs down, and every now and then pick up a game of a type you wouldnt normaly get, you often get some pleaseent surprises - a change is as good as a rest

No... i don't even have enough time to play my games when i didn't have an internet connection... but we are different individual, maybe you just don't feel like playing games as of the moment... well, do other things and just keep 'em for awhile, after sometime... you just might miss 'em.

No, definitely not. I have tons of games including the PS3 one's and I buy them all knowing I would want to replay them again and again. Not only that, I have a huge backlog of games I still need to start.

I still need to beat Mirror's Edge and now RoF before I call bored. But when I get to that point, it's on to make music before something else original comes up. Or Persona 5, of course. :P
