is anyone else's PS3's messed up since the update (please read)

If i hit the Middle PS button to turn off the console or to quit a game I am stuck in that menu. I cannot press O to back out. I have to manually turn off the system! I haven't seen anyone else complain of this.  This sucks!

i had that problem once. it was becuase one of the shoulder buttons was jammed in the controller. i just took it a part and un-jammed it and it works fine now. 

i normally just push the PS button again to back out, have you tried that?duffman0084

That's what I do too. Hopefully that solves the problem.

This has happened to me twice, regardless of what version OS on the PS3 (I still dont have 1.8 ).  I just held the power button on the front down until the PS3 shuts off, turn it back on and then it's fine.  It's happened to me while playing online.

I'm having trouble with a loud feedback and a horizontal line moving up during DVD play. It is terrible!apostle_52

ive had this problem too except it was during oblivion (happened twice too). it feeds back fairly loudly and then after a while it freezes and nothing works other than shutting it off manually on the console.
