So I just boughtCOD4 about a week agoand then tried to play it online and i can not connect. It says downloading settings and then finding potential matches. I went online and I've read just about every forum there is out there. My internet works fine i can download and connect on other games but just not this one. I tried all the trouble shooting suggestions but still no luck. I am about to give up on this game even though i loved the single player mode and just go buy UT3 and see if I have more luck withthat.

well if thats the case then go buy UT3 and then when IW releases the patch you can come back to CoD4

did you try to open ports 3074 and 3075 on your router?

Me too. I completely missed out on double XP weekend:( According to activision you have to open ports 3658, 3478, 3074, 3075 (UDP) and ports 80, 443, 5223 (TCP) which I did. My NAT type shows up as 2, logging into PSN is no problem, so I don't know what the issue is (actually at this point I'm convinced it's their servers). I'm getting error 33, I've switched to single player, then multiplayer (back and forth) and still no dice. I hope they fix this issue soon, I'd hate to sell this game.

Just asking, How long do you guys wait for? I heard that depending how many people are on cod4 and playing the match type you want to play, that it may take longer. I have also heard of people taking a few minutes to get into a game. I would just wait and see if you continue to have problems then get UT.

It takes me between 10-20 mins to join a game.. stuck on potential matches,,, sometimes even 30 mins with no luck... and ive to keep re-entering lobby,, I did all the port forwarding crap and enabled DMZ for PS3,, still no luck... I phoned activision 3 times and the guy starts blaming my router and my ps3, saying it's my problem.

Once you get online it's a blast... but the waiting time is far tooooooooo loooooooooong.. Worst multiplayer experience ever..

Luckily I bought it from EB games in NZ which have 7 day money back gurantee, no questions asked,,, so I fear I'll be returning this game and waiting for UT3 till it comes out in FEB 2008 here...:|
