Is COD 4 good online?

Have not played this on Ps3, I heard there were some problems getting into matches. This could be fixed now, I don't know, but yes I have played on other consoles and it is very good, right up there with Halo if you have ever played that.

There were initially some problems getting into matches but they just released an update that fixed the issue. It is by far the best online game I have ever play on any console, especially on the PS3.

The game IS great. However, even though I can beat the game on it's hardest setting, I still suck SO bad online, I don't find it all that fun, admittedly I haven't played too many online matches. I've played FPS for over 15 years with a Mouse/Keyboard, which is obviously the problem, and maybe I'm just having a hard time adjusting to the controller. The problem is I get killed within seconds of respawning every single time. I will say I haven't really explored anything about the servers, because I seem to get on servers with nothing but Italian speaking people for some reason. They also seemed to be a team in a DM game, which is kind of odd, since it wasn't Team Deathmatch.

Anyway, I'll probably get UT3 so I can play with a M/K, and since UT has always been more my type of FPS (fast-paced) than realistic settings. However, I will say CoD4 has an amazing SP (albeit short) and I could see the online being fun if you can get good. I will probably actually try and get good eventually at CoD, I'm just used to winning in FPS, so it sucks to lose so badly ;).

ps3 = good community

360 = kill stealing noobs that have camping problems

and the camping problems ruin the 360 online version for me. ps3 had not as many campers. (and yes i really played both)

Wow... haha I don't even know where to begin.

COD4 is probably the BEST online experience you'll get at the moment. It's amazing... it's intense... it's scary. It doesn't get old, every game feels different. It's just THAT good.

It's very good but will be far better off joining a clan.

It needs a mute button for mics as some players talk so much rubbish/needless swearing/coughing their guts out or have dreadful music pounding out it becomes off putting and generally gets annoying in a short space of time to the point where you quit the match to give your ears a rest. Hopefully, a patch will have this option. Teamwork is non-existent and has the age-old problem of persistent campers...

Other than that, it's great!

It's a fantastic online game with a great single player.

At the moment It's the best online experience along side Unreal Tournament III.
