From everything I've read, what people have said, and what I have seen, it supposedly feels like the spiritual successor to FFX. I'll find out myself tomorrow! ;)
It's like FFX in a linear sense, I'm about 6 hours in so far. The areas are much longer than FFX though. The battle system isn't like FFX though but it's pretty unique so far, seems a bit restricting at first but you'll find that paragram switching and chain breaking can be pretty fun.

After playing X I was amazed how this series was. I bought XII back in 2006 and it got boring, and the story was lame and I gave up on it. I gave it a second run last summer, went about 16HRS in and once again I gave up. I'm still having my doubts about XIII.

I loved FF12. i liked it more than FF10. I wish FF13 was more like 12 as opposed to 10. =/

Glad to see I'm not the only one for a change. This game is pretty much made for the FF noobs who love FFX the most because of its easy access to non-jrpg players. I still enjoyed FFX, but it was definitely my least favorite of the post-SNES games.

to me FF9 was the last game deserving of the name. 10 and 12 were good, but they didn't feel like final fantasy games. they were fun and i enjoyed them, but they weren't final fantasy. im getting 13 but much like the last 2 im expecting nothing FF related in the game other than a chocobo and references to crystals and assuredly cid.

Me too... I liked XII more than X. The only thing I liked better in X was the control of your summons... it sucked having no control over their actions in XII. But other than that, I found everything about XII to be a better game, except for maybe the story. I still liked the story... but X's story did seem a lot cooler at the time.
In terms of story I hope to god not. Gameplay was fun though.GrandJury
I liked FFXs story. Wasn't the best in the world, but it had it's moments. I honestly am expecting a much weaker story and much weaker character development from FF13. Haven't heard one person call it the games strong suit so.
From what I've seen, it's pretty much like FFX: pretty linear early on, but cool new battle system, beautiful graphics, and opens up later on. I can't wait to fight overpowered superbosses... it's sort of a masochistic pleasure for me. :P
