Is God of War really over? (spoilers alert)

For all those who played GoW III you know that in the ending Kratos drags himself to a cliff. That is a short video that rolls after the credits, and SMS (Santa Monica Studios) wouldn't make a video for nothing. Lots of people say that God of War will end as Kratos story but there will be other God of War games with other characters in other mythologies. After seeing Kratos and his story, I don't want anything else.

Do you think Kratos died there, or is it still not over for the god slayer? :P

I wouldnt mind playing another god of war game at al as i really liked the 3 of them, but i think I would rather it be the end of Kratos. If they brought him back they would just be dragging out his story which has finished in my opinion.. But again i would like a new games as you said with other characters just in a similar style :)

I don't know, I mean he left the world completely destroyed and without balance, and Athena is still alive searching for power, so you never know.

the ending sure did kep their options open. i wouldnt be surprised if they are working on a GoW4 now.

btw i remember reading a rumour that work has already started on the game, on ign or gamespot a few months ago. i wouldnt mind playing another GoW game since the 3 were so epic and fun.

I like the idea of Kratos taking on the Norse Gods. Kratos vs Thor sounds freaken awesome lol.

Other ideas would be to have it take place during modern day with some new person and either they are a solider who gets God powers or are such a good solider and never fails that they are called the God of War.

Another idea I would find interesting but will probably never happen is to have it take place in modern times and Kratos fighting current Gods like Christ, Buddha, Ala, Moses, etc but I can see all the controversy over that runing Santa Monica and Sony lol. As Christain though I still find that idea intersting. I just imagine Jesus going up to Kratos and going "the power of Christ compells you **** and punches him lol. But if South Park couldn't even show Muhamud then I highly doubt this idea would leave the story boards lol.

Also does anyone else remember how at the end of God of War 1 when Kratos is sitting in Aries chair and the narrator is talking? I remember seeing images of ww1,ww2,vietnam, and iraq and the narrator mentioned how Kratos watched over as the new God of War but as we know Kratos stopped being the God of War in 2. Does that mean anything or did Santa monica just do that because they werent sure about doing God of War 2.

I want more God of War so I hope it isn't over. The scene after credits doesn't really say anything about another game. To me it just seemed like Kratos dragged himself towards the cliff to fall in the Ocean like he originally intended in the first game. Now unless Gods from other mythologies are brought on board Im kinda stumped on how they will continue the series, if they will.

They will make more God of War, for one reason alone. This.

And to not star Kratos would be mildly blasphemous in some peoples eyes. How they do it is anyones guess. but when there is money to be made, someone will find a way to make it.

They will be more 'God of War' games, it's too much of a money maker for Sony. And they will feature Kratos, he's too much of an icon for them not to.

If its about main plot then its over as everything was jst about revenge.... if they want to milk like cod they anything is possible.....

It would be interesting if they delved into other mythologies.

seriously though...i thought the franchise, though consistently great, has been overdone. i look forward to the studio moving forward with new IPs.
