is gran turismo 5 going to have ricers too?

i don't find how people who play forza 2 find this as good looking....

I understand what your saying but just cause it has stickers and a body kit doesn't make it rice. Are Nascar's rice because they have tons of stickers and believe it or not a body kit. May not look like it but there is one to add downforce to the car. Forza is a great game, just read reviews and see for yourself, i'm not even gonna try to make my point, the reviews say it all. Besides Gran Turismo never had optional body kits etc so this one probably won't have it either. TM1

Can you read, do you see the word PROBABLY, i never said for sure it won't have it. I love GT and i hope it does have it just so the customization options would be nice, but based on previous versions this one may not have it. Again i'll say it, "MAY NOT HAVE IT" since one guy is having a problem understanding it.

No, I understand it, but still, new titles in series normally enhance previous elements and add new ones as well, I wouldn't ever think to base any assumption of a new game on an old one. Yeah, it MAY not have it, but I won't ever look at an old game to come to that assumption. 

Umm, GT2 had the option of upgrading a car to "race." It would add numbers and body kits. Do you not remember that? I've been playing Gran Tourismo for many years and I thought when GT3 came around without the racing upgrade I thought it was terrible, I had to go without it again in GT4. It would be nice to see the option of racing upgrades make a come back for GT5.negtegra

I agree.  I loved that in GT1 and 2.  If you didn't have the money to buy a full race car, you could just upgrade a car you have, and get that "racing upgrade" and have be around the type of performance as a regular race car.  It would be nice to see it come back, but if it doesn't, oh well, I can go without it again.

ricers are imports that have those huge ass fart can exhaust alteazza taillights a huge wing even though it does nothing for a front wheel drive car and a bodykit that almost scrapes the ground  IMO it looks bad

Granted that's what a ricer is and I do hate them, but I prefer a car that has balance to a car that has a huge motor and can go fast when the steering wheel is pointed straight...whether in GT or in real life.   

I'm sure it will, GT4 had plenty. I hate them, but as long as there is as many 50's-70's cars in 5 as there was in 4 I'll be happy, although I hope they add more. I'd like to see more full-size cars too and I want to see more Mopars.:)360dodge

those cars were far from ricers....they were modeled after actual track cars, not some poorly put on body kit some teenage tried to put on his honda civic 

I think its cool that you have the ability to put your own skins on cars in Forza.  But that feature can only carry so far.

I think it speaks a lot for the current generation of teens.  They fit right into the mold.  They want everything to be customizable.  And that's what they love about Forza.

But, does that feature really make the game?  Isn;t there a lot more to a racig game than paint??

NASCAR stickers are sponsers not stickers that came with a copy of Lowrider. They get paid for those stickers. However, the "Car of Tomorrow" (I feel there should be an echo there) does now make the cars Ricers. Especially with the addition of Toyota.

i've seen cars in forza 2 and it looked very unclean, the cars with stickers all over and funny body kits. are they going to have these in gran turismo 5 too? because i hope not, i don't want to play a game with ricers online, it's going to make my plasma tv look bad =((((LeDavester

yea man GT4 has never had rice, they've had race cars.  BIG difference. 

Altho the definition of rice varies.  I describe it as "All show and no go" type of deal that is done poorly.  See above. lol

However, Take that first picture for example.  I feel that if they redesigned the back bumper to house that exhaust in a clean manner it might be able to save itself from rice-dom. 

Not for anything, but assuming that VR4 is actually a VR4 and the FMIC isn't plastic the rice you see on it is probably for bait. Not many folks are aware of Galant VR4's and what they do. People see the 5" tip on the back of my car and ignore the GSX badge but when they do a fly-by and see the FMIC they promptly slow down and assume a non-aggresive driving manner.emitsu97

looking at the rest of the car, I was assuming it was a "intercooler-looking" radiator. I have seen those before.

It looks like an Evo8 FMIC.  I know what you're talking about though, I've seen 'em too, too funny.  I like the button operated BOV.  Sitting at a light next to a Civic with air woosh sounds coming out of it but no change to engine rev. :lol:

Simply because the devlopers at Polyphony aren't goign to bother putting so much detail on an ugly ricer. In fact, i seriously doubt they would put in customization like Forza simply because in GT, its more about skill and how you drive. They never focused on how pimped up your car will be at the end of teh game.

Yeah but those racing mods were based on the real ones, I mean, that for example, when you bought the racing mod in GT2 for one of the several Toyota Celica that were available, you ended getting the classic Toyota Celica Rally car with all the original sponsor and no crappy designs made from a mix of stuff.

And you do realize that those cars in GT with all the stickers are actual race cars in the real world withreal "SPONSORS". And honestly, those cars look far better than the cars in Nascar.

there is a BIG difference between "tuners" and "ricers". Tuners MAKE their cars go fast. Ricers make it LOOK like their cars go fast.
