Well I have always loved the Gran Turismo games and I own them all except Gran Turismo 4: Prologue because I didn't think it was worth getting.

But I have seen gameplay of Gran Turismo 5: Prologue and it looks brilliant! And the online sounds great too!

So I'm thinking, seeing as Gran Turismo 5 isn't going to be out for a while, should I get Prologue?

Nice negative responses so far...

Prologue is good, while it's short it is far bigger then a demo and for that reason it is worth its budget price.

It's online as well so there will always be challenges.

If you can't wait then yes its a decent buy. I, for one, can wait a while longer for the full game.

The european version has 72 cars, and 6 tracks. the tracks are:

London City, Eiger Nordwand, Suzuka, Daytona, High Speed Ring & Fuji Speedway.

Note...The bluray version installs 5gb on the hdd, not sure why..

I bought the Japanese Version of GT5 Prologue when it first came out (because I was conveniently in Japan....got myself a Dualshock 3 too). I got it for around 30 bucks, and I was in the touristy mood so I was willing to buy it. The US version seems to offer more stuff.....not entirely sure how much more. The Japanese version subsided my need for a while. I wont be buying the US GT5P. Ill keep myself busy with Team Fortress 2.

Nope, I imported it and I received the extra vehicles, track, and updates the other day, which are in the US/EU versions. It's 1/8 of GT5 for $40, minus damage modeling. Definitely wasn't worth my $40 + S&H fee. Wait until GT5 releases, you'll get all 8/8 of the game, plus damage modeling.

YES! It is awesome. I love the quality of GT games and this one does not disappoint, from the classy interfaces to the graphics and gameplay this is a must have for TRUE GT lovers. There are some small problems but over all it is more than worth the $$. I'm sure that most of the negative posters have spent more for less on other games. Watch out for the online though because as usual there are idiots with no skill that try to spoil it for every one by ramming and such. But if you get a good set up with like minded folk then prepare for an exhilarating race!

i know for a fact that i will be picking it up as soon as it hits the stores over here. if you think about it it gives you way more than the other racers out right now, except for burnout. it was more cars than most racers 16 player online or 12 not too sure. beautiful graphics, the ultimate driving experience. so yea i'd say it's worth the $40.

$40 is not and has never been "budget" pricing. PC games are $40. Warhawk is $30. There is nothing "budget" about it. If it were $19.99, I'd agree...but it's not.

Better said: It's 10% of Gran Turismo at 70% of the price.

It is a glorified demo, no getting around it. Now, if it's worth it to you...if you're a die-hard GT junkie...then you ought to buy it. It'll probably give you a leg up on GT5.

Otherwise, I wouldn't.

Personally, I'm torn right now. I have money like it grows ono trees, but I don't like wasting mone either...and I don't like feeling taken advantage of. I do feel like this is a money-grab by Polyphony...the question is whether I'm going to bend over or not.

Still deciding.

Just get it! I'd hardly say that Polyphony are trying to bend you over it's more like they are giving you a treat. Why shouldn't they cash in on the work that they have done to bring us Prologue? I don't get how people can be in two minds about geting this if they like GT games. It's a no brainer for fans.

Most of these guys haven't played the game..I have. And I can say now YES you should get it, i was never fan of the series, but the beautiful visuals was just too good to pass, and i spent the whole weekend playing it, this is probably the 1st time since GTA SA came out that I spent majority on my weekend playing 1 game, IT THAT GOOD.

It is good, but I'd urge people not to waste their cash when all this content will be in GT5...

Have not been a huge fan of GT series and I went ahead and bought prologue and am hooked ever since... People go on about it being a "DEMO", trust me I haven't put this many hours into a "DEMO" in my life. There are 70 Cars to earn which takes a long time doing so, 6 tracks which are also reversible, and mastering each track takes time to do so... Online in't the best (Only because online competitors think it's Burnout paradise and just foolishly ram you) but hey, if you can look past that Online is more content for you to mess with.

Having purchased the game I say 'HELL YEAH' it's worth it.

Okay, this is tolerable. NO because the game is nothing more than a demo. But, hey if you got the $ to throw at it then go for it other than that I would wait for the FULL game.

i have the game and think it is worth getting, yeh no car modding but still great game, 71 cars, 6 tracks which can be played in reverse or slightly changed! online news and gt tv which you can watch races and anything really to do with cars, will include episodes of top gear too!! and up to 16 players online! not that bad really, and the full game could well be coming out next year which is a very long time to wait!!
