Is Haze as bad as people say it is??

If you don't wish to buy it, rent it and decide.

No, its alot worse than people say it is. Those whom are saying its only terrible are being way too generous.

"Haze" is 10 pounds of monkey crap in a 5 pound bag.

The gameplay and graphics are passable, but the story and dialogue are so atrocious that it completely renders anything possitive as a pointless extra because the writing is so piss-poor, its not worth suffering through the story to get to the next gameplay area. The characters are completely midless gits who come across as nothing more than hillbillies with tourettes syndrome.

If you like run and guns then you will like this game .. if you're expecting to play COD4 don't get it .. it is sad how people blow it off because it isn't as good as COD4 .. just because it isn't as good doesn't mean it sucks ..420Token420

well i think haze is a great game... i just think most people on this site are xbox 360 fans and there mad that this exclusive didn't make it to the 360 at all... i can picture it now, when metal gear solid 4 comes out , gamespot will give it a 4.0 for lack of formatting it on the 360... cause i bet if GTA4 was only on ps3, gamespot would have give it a lower rating.. but since it came out for both system, they gave it a 10, which in fact i think the game should have gotten a 7.0 to me... but to be honest give haze a rent and see for yourself... only you the gamer can decide on what you'll like... zeke2040

Seriously, I guess you could argue the dialogue in Haze wasn't all that poorer that alot ofother games, and perhaps I'm striking at Haze as the result of a culmanation of rampant poor writing as of late, but you've got to admitt, there were moments where the cursing and gibberish banter seemed so over the top it was just, well, silly.

Just like many others said, why don't you rent the game first? Personally, I rented it 3 days ago and I'm having a blast! Mind you, since I'm an online player before all, I barely touched the single player campaign but in my opinion, the online play alone is worth buying the game for. I have to bring the game back today and honestly, it's going to be hard for me to do so.

So yeah, I love the game.

Why doesn't anyone get that the reason the troopers on Haze talk that way and act that way is because they're doped up on Nectar all the time. I mean look how calm the soldier acts that tries to get on the chopper with them and they say "why haven't you been taking your meds?" to him and then they banish hime from going with them. They act irrational and weird because their drugies/junkies. I mean this game got its score lowered because they act this way in it and it was to demonstrate strange behavior caused by nectar.

To answer your question short:

I would say Haze isnt as bad as reviewers make it out to be, but I still dont think its worth a buy. Its a rental at most.

I toally agree man .. the dialogue isn't the best .. well actually far from it but you have to remember they're drugged .. so I mean if you've never tried anything you may think it's stupid. But if you've actually indulged in drugs some of the conversations you can have are, well .. lack of a better word .. brainless .. exactly how it is in HAZE .. It's suppose to make no sense ..

I totally get what you're saying about the "Nectar/Drug" thing, I just think the game could have been alot more entertaining had it taken its story more seriously.

The soldiers could have done "bad things" and showed "errors in character and judgement" without coming across as brainless hillbillies. The scene where they argrssively cut the dude's hand off for example, would have been much more powerfull had they not been cracking so many lame jokes.

Like I said, conceptually, there was merrit in the idea between Good/Evil. Drugged/Clean etc, but the execution just came off so childish and rediculous.

And I agree with the post above. They had a good story. but its almost like they did not take it seriously. Or did not realize they had a cool story. So you have to look past some bad scripting, to feel the story. But the story works.
