INFAMOUS reminds me so much of GTA4. But based on the INFAMOUS demo, the story isn't GTA4 caliber. I mean, it might be a little interesting (wtf happened to the city and cole?), but the delivery and presentation doesn't seem all captivating. There's no animated acting or heavy dialogue like GTA4. Am I right here? This is what I got from the demo. The cutscenes aren't even animation, just visuals/images.

I enjoy story-driven games like MGS4, Uncharted, Assassins Creed, and GTA4. So how is INFAMOUS compared to these games in this sense? Thanks.

Once you get into the game, the story is really good. It kind of takes a while to get there tho. Great game, one of the best I've played this gen.

It sort of tells the story like a comic book, it works better then most would think. Don't go fully off of the demo, its nothing compared to the actual game.

I would say yes. The ending is quite good.

The demo is jumping around to different parts of the story. of the four missions the demo takes you through, two are story related, and two are just random side-missions that you have the option of doing in the real game.

Overall, the story behind InFamous is very well paced, and everything (excluding facts purposely hidden) is spelled out from beginning to end.

the best way i can think of describing the game to people is as a choose your own adventure book. the story isn't bad it ain't great either, its not hard to figure out what happens or what will happen with the choices yoru make but the choices you make do affect the story. but you can only be all the way good or all the way bad there is no in between reallly . though most of the story isn't told in those comic panel cutscens actually there arne't many of them most of the stories actually told through your headset as various characters inthe game call you giving you orders and such they also reveal the plot. a bulk of the stories told this way through audio only.

The story is really great with a bunch of twists that make you really want to figure who did what. So yeah it's a story driven game.

It's somewhat story-driven. I mean, the story is really good, but so is the gameplay.

I wasn't much of a fan of GTA4's story...was kinda boring (liked Niko a lot though). Infamous has a good story especially late in the game.

The story I would say is pretty good. Most of it is told through phones but thats not bad because the dialogue is good and the voice acting isn't bad either (except Cole is a bit rough). True the face animations are pretty bad but not too bad, and there isn't much talking face to face compared to the other forms of story-telling. Overall I would say the story is better than most Super-hero plots.

It's probably the best super hero story ever in game. It sucks you in.

InFamous is a fully story driven game, but as others have already said most of it is revealed through phone headset conversations, meaning you are still able to play as the story unfolds reducing the need for cutscenes. Whether this sounds appealing to you or not, trust me, it works very well.

The game and story are excellent. I found the game to be quite refreshing and slightly underrated by some review sites. The game is definitely AAA.

hmmm. i actually enjoy cutscenes... ala mgs4 and uncharted.

the idea of the story just unfolding via audio while im still fighting/playing isn't very appealing.

True, in fact you can say it's a lazy attempt. But what it has in store is worth more then how it is presented to you. The comic book cutscenes however are the most enjoyable ones, and you'll be hoping to get more of them as you play along with the game.

I have read many reviews on the game and from what I read it has a great story mode.
