Basically I found a really cool setup for my PS3, but it does require it to be standing up. Now I know they made it so you can lay it down or sit it up, but I've heard rumors that it's not as good for discs/etc if it's stood up. Is that true?

the only way it is okay for it to stand up is if you can be sure that the console will not move while the dvd is playing. Now, i am not certain as to whether the disc will be damaged, if the ps3 so happens to nudge while you were playing. But the discs do have a protective layer. and also i think that flaw is only held by the 360

Well, if it's not worse than 360, my 360 has been standing up since I've had it and I haven't had any problems. So the answer is no, it's not bad?
