I mean, it seems far too un-scary and I don't like that you have someone by your side at all times, making the game seem less scary sence she can shoot unlike ashley, who you had to protect which hightened the scares. And scares are half the game from my point of view, resident evil has always been a survival horror and now it seems far less scary. Or is it just me?
Well I have yet to find any 'horror' game actually scary .. so no maybe it's not just you .. but either way this game should be awesome .. looking good so far ..
I find it hard to believe you're only just noticed the fact that RE is no longer scary. RE4 wasn't exactly nerve-racking either. I must applaud Capcom on how they almost single-handedly killed traditional survival-horror with the release of a single game though. Bravo :roll:.
resident evil stopped being scary after resident evil 3 to be honest with u, yes 4 was awesome, but wasnt near scary, i own almost all resident evil except for dead aim and the one on ps2 where u play as bunch o people healin and helpin each other, forgot its name. anyways, resident evil 5 doesnt look scary either but it does look fun and the same as 4....no doubt ill have fun playing but i wont be gettin it thinkin ill be scared because like others said, capcom easily killed wat resident evil was all about. anyways im gettin it on day one still have the se on reserve
well Resident Evil hadsnt been scary since RE4 came out its just one of those horror games that made you jump every now and then but RE5 still looks awesome and with online co-op and offline co-op this game will probably be a definite buy for me

Given the fact that we have only seen the first two missions of the game, wallpapers, art, some trailers which depicts it less scarier in comparison with their predecessors, I believe you should not be that judgemental until the game is out and fully playable.
Their predecessors happen to be much more scarier due to its scenery, theme and location and perhaps music.
Taking into account that I have seen on some trailers in RE5 that shows a dark marshy area, perhaps we maybe visiting those areas further into the game which will be more .. darker, scarier and gory? As stated by one of the japanese dudes that RE5 will just be a tad bit slighter shorter then RE4. You have any idea how long RE4 was?

I've played the demo on X360 which consists of two maps. Indeed, you shoot unless you are standing, wasn't RE4 like that? Given the fact that run and gun in action happens to take out the .... fun in RE5, Since you could just manuever around zombies all day which maybe a reason the japanese dudes have taken into account before implementing some features.

The highest that game can get now is a 8.0. This is ridiculous if you see zombies that are going to cut you up and eat your face YOU WILL BE RUNNING AND SHOOTING
