Is it just me or do we need a next generation Oddworld game? Abe's Oddysee and Abe's Exoddus on the original Playstation were a blast to play because of their clever, intuitive platforming, quirky sense of humor, and great cut scenes. I know the next gen consoles are the breeding grounds for first person shooters and racing simulators (both of which I enjoy), but I think a high resolution Oddworld game with the same creative puzzles and great storyline of the first two would be a great addition to the PS3 catalog.

Omfg... i remember that game! My cousin had it.... abe's oddysee. To clarify i cant remember any of the gameplay but hey i rekon it might b a gud idea... i dont think its that great of an idea tho.... (i think its lost its fan base).
Yes, oddworld would be a good game, although there are so many games from the last 2 generations of gaming that could be remade, or a sequel. I doubt another Oddworld will come anytime soon.

aahh ... brings back fond memories ... ps1 classics hope to see them on psn some time ... but also brings back bad memories i remember waiting for the next gen title to arrive on the ps2 ..... damn i shed tears when i found out it was an xbox exclusive
they did announce a game in the oddworld universe is in the making. Not sure it'll be on PS3 though... i would imagine it would be on 360 as munchs oddyssey and strangers wrath were on Xbox.

They were great games too! To have one come to the ps3 would be great. Though I don't think they had enough of a following for that to happen.
I didnt know it went that far back... but I could have sworn that was a microsoft produced game now... ta well I still have mine from the PS1. I would to play Abe once again.

No, but they were planned to be ported then the idea was scraped, MS lost OWI to EA.
The last game they said they were working on was The Brutal Ballad of Fangus Klot but i'd rather then continued the saga with Squeeks Oddysee, that or SligStorm which sounded interesting.

I prefer they're kept as side scrollers. I'd imagine you could make an absolutely b-e-a-utiful sidescroller on current hardware.
