Is it just me or is Uncharted similar to Gears of War, gameplay wise?

In the fact that they both have TPS elements, or that they both use the cover system kind of like Killswitch?

It's just you.. Unless Pirates and a grubs coming up from the ground is the same thing for you.. Oh yeah.. Also, if you somewhat don't care about colors and atmosphere... And story wise, yeah.. I suppose it's the same, I mean there are big odd car in one of them, and a jetski thingie in the other, that's the same :P... let's see..

I completely agree..

i agree. however, I prefer Uncharted a lot more. the AI is actually smart and the game is a lot more difficult.

Don't get me wrong I love the demo, I just noticed it, and I will definitely be getting this on its release day.

???? The Uncharted demo was a complete cakewalk. This is coming from some who isnt 100% comfortable with the playstation controller for shooters. I had alot of fun with the game, but cmon it isnt any harder than Gears of War.

The killing people thing feels kinda similar, other than that not the same at all. Gears is all about being visceral, while drake's is more elegant.

The uncharted demo seemed ALOT more intense than gears to me. I beat gears on COOP with mi amigos and it was hard and intense but the way drake moves and the way they rush you on hard mode its so much more intense.

lol. if you dont understand, hes trying to say that GeOW also took or "coppied" stuff from other games, and other games always "copy" things from other games if it works

actually a lot of games are now "borrowing" this system left and right. If you think about it, brothers in arms 3 and the upcoming killzone 2 is also like this. CoD2 "kinda" used it first.

You said it, pal.  It's all about innovation and implementation.  If it works, use it, and use it correctly.  RE4 (and its predecessors) borrowed cinematic concepts like camera angles and calmness-to-surprise dynamics to create an immersive experience.  Gears of War borrowed the wide angle 3rd person-shooting view popularized by RE4.  Now, Uncharted borrows that same shooting view and elements of Indiana Jones characterization/plot.   Innovation and incorporation is crucial in game development.  Originality is important too, but it's highly OVERRATED.  On a side note, the Uncharted demo was absolutely breathtaking... gaming nirvana.  I was crazy about the trailers, then the demo; next will be the game!!.  Â
