When I inserted the disc in standby mode, it made the PS3 turn on automatically. Is this ok to do?

Hmm..... great question! I'm quite curious to try it but I'm afraid toso I'm not. Don't wanna risk damaging a $600 system or a $60 disc.

it doesn't do anything. It just senses the disk, so it automatically starts the system and accepts the disk, you people are over reacting

Like don't do that eh. You'll brick your console; and that's not covered by the warranty. :|:|:|

I dont have a ps3 yet but I always do it on the Wii and nothing ever happend it just starts as you push the disc in and turns on.

Its just a prefernce some people push a cd dirve tray a bit to make it close others use the button either way nothing happends.
