technically possible since psp is as powerfil as the ps2...however it will not happen.joeychew
how do you know? lol cause i've been seeing almost all final fantasys coming out lately on the handhelds lately..... and i saw 3 on ds 1 2 on gba... 8 on psp.. not sure about before 8.. so it's possible but it'd be awesome if it did xD
[QUOTE="AzuresNight"]well all the other handhelds ff lik 1 and 2 are lik 10 years old..not alot graphic wise, final fantasy 10 is very recent and psp cant handle ps2 stuff its power is like a ps1 not 2zidan4000
wrong its not like ps1 and not like ps2 its between them
You're both wrong.
The PSP is slightly more powerful than the PS2
PS2 has 300Mhz CPU, the PSP has 333Mhz CPU. They both have 32mb ram, and similar graphics chips (although it is said the ps2 graphics chip is easier to code for or something)
Graphically, the PSP is very comparible to the PS2. cross-platform games that are on both systems often look identical. There are some damn beautiful psp games, and to even think that it looks like PS1 era graphics, is just ignorant.
No, will you just stop acting like such a retard It's never gonna come out for the PSP, it's only gonna be a spin-off if they do make it. Square Enix only makes ports for games at least 2 generations before (PS1 era and before)nevereathimdam dogg calm down
I would have loved FFX for PSP, but it's probably not gonna happen:(
About the PSP itself, It's true that the PSP is stronger than PS2, the main problem is that the UMD can hold "only" 1.8GB of information, the PS2 uses DVD which can hold around 4GB i think and dual layer 8GB. If you compare this you se that there is much more space to store textures on a DVD disk, and therefore the PS2 will more often look better (even though PSP in some titles are very close!) and that is also the main reason why for example MGS portable OPS ain't fully dubbed like the PS2 versions, heck, even the PS1 version was fully dubbed, but it was a double disk and the graphics probably didn't fill that much of the space.
The reason for the PSp title not to be full dubbed is the lack of space, it would be anoying with double disk on PSP , imagine that you completed disk 1 in the middle of the forrest and have to switch:P that's probably why they didn't go multi disk on PSP.
I'm not pretending to be an expert, so correct me if any of this is wrong, but as far as i know tha abve information should be right.
Sony could make so much money from this.
I mean, the DS can play all FF games through 6, if the PSP could play 7-9 and maybe 10, the PSP would become a lot more popular. Though FFX is the least likely to be seen. I expect that PS1 game emulation will eventually get to full speed and the FF games will sell like digital hotcakes.
I only played FF7 to the third disc, and never got far into 8,9,or 10, so I would love this to happen, even though it never will.

SwedFish
That would be sweet and would make alot more sence. I would like to see a revamped remake of 6 on the PSP though. A bit like 7's graphics in 6's world. However i doubt that any FF games wil be allowed to be digitally distibuted by sony. Square Enix know that can stick them on a UMD and the will get more money for them...........unless they stick them on the store and charge for a full wack game. but then they will be losing out on the people who don't have access to the network.
