Is it possible to explain GOD1+2 in less than 1hr?

I'm right in front of a Gamestop sitting in my car trying to get a recap on the first 2 installments being that I refuse to play them....now at least. I just want to jump into GOW3 immediately. Is it possible for me to get the full recap (plot, villain etc) without having to read (x) amount of pages? If anyone here is able to explain everything in key events briefly, by all means speak out. I just want to drive home and start the game!

EDIT: What I know: Kratos was killed by his father....Zeus if im not mistaken and he's trying to get his revenge some how while destroying anything that breathes? Am I right so far?

Kratos kills everybody that spurns him, attacks him, threatens his family, or just rubs him the wrong way.

Seriously, I wouldn't worry. The plot in a God of War game is like the plot in an adult movie; just something they put in there to hold all the good stuff together.

Lemme give it a try. Keep in mind it;s been years since I've played GoW1, and never played GoW2 (a sin, I know.)

Kratos is pissed.

He gains powers.

He loses powers.

He's even more pissed.

He gains powers back, plus even more power.

Gets tricked, loses them again.

GoW1 = Kratos kills Ares (the god of war) for forcing him to do his bidding for years and tricking him into killing his wife and daughter.

GoW2 = Zeus kills Kratos (temporarily of course) for wrecking hell on Greece and for him killing Ares. Kratos goes on a mission to get revenge on Zues (and later all of olympus). Kratos fails to kill Zeus and instead kills his guide/mentor Athena instead by accident. GoW3 just contues the story of the GoW2 "quest for revenge".

That sounds about the most accurate. I've heard something like that, I did not know he killed Athena though. I see the twist with dishonesty between Kratos and his Father. Ok, Wellp... ring me up and get me home!

Ya dude, i only mentioned Athena because she does make an appearance of sorts in GoW3 and you might be confused as to who this person is or what happened.

So...where does the PSP version fit in all of this??
