i played 3 games, madden 2008 and need for speed most wanted and have upgraded the system twice and yet it says i have only 64 GB of space left??/ where did the other 16 go, anyone can tell me???
You've got to understand a good portion of that space goes to system files. It's like when you buy a PC and installing XP and basic components takes up a noticeable chunk of space. Same thing with PS3.
nope no music, i did notice when i look in hardrive capacity it said 64/74, so i assum the 6 GB is already in use for the ps3, but 10 gigs for madden 08, and need for speed underground for the ps2??? could it because of the system updates? is there a place where i can go to see what is taking up all the space, like what file?
It's takin' up by the system and other programs and things on the system. Not just those first 6 gigs, there is probably plenty of other stuff taking up space that is needed for the PS3. Don't worry about it, all PS3's are the same like that. Mine only has 66 or so gigs too.
the space advertise is hardly ever the right amount of space, sometimes it can be above but most of the time, it has less space then indicated. I don't know the techs about HDD stuff so bare with it. it means that your HDD isn't 80 gigs but 74, it can hold up to 74 gigs before running out of space. there about 10 gigs of space being used for the system and the rest of your stuff (a few ps2 and ps3 games should take up to 30 megs at most).
