is heavenly sword really as short as they say?
if so, is it still worth a buy?

Yes it is worth the 60 bones. This game is amazing I have about 14 hours on it already.hscream13
This game came out LAST NIGHT and you have 14 hours on it? Do you work?!
Obviously this is either a lie to get others to buy it or he really doesn't have anything else to do aside from playing games all day long.
I wonder what his social life would be like...(joking).

You know whats odd. Now the normal players. The guys who pace a game and enjoy it. Are saying about 8 or even 9 hours. One said to beat it in 5 youwould havehad to rush threw it like a skitzo. And would never be able to enjoy what it is. It must have beena rushed to get a score out for Gamespot play threw. And you can beat Gears in 8 hours
UghhIhatethisstupidbugwiththespacebad.DontmattermuchthowImgettingamajorformediaMACsoon. Got to love windows:/ almost as many bugs as the 360. And of course the same company

Yes it's really short 90% reviewers comment it's easily beatable in under 7 hours while still doing as much as possible, theres basicly no exploration or platforming in HS so theres no way to sort of play it slowly, ive been playing it slowly looking for all the pots to smash for extra content but thats really the only way to take your time.
But i see some re-play value in HS if your like me, each chapter is made up of around 5-10 little chapters that get rated out of 3 stars/medlas whatever they are, so i will probably try and get 3 stars on everything, also im not sure on this but i think once you beat the game an extra hard mode gets unlocked si i will probably play through that aswell.
It's really up to you and what you like if you decide its worth the dollars, i like to collect games so its worth it to me and i look at it like this i paid £20 for the departed on blu-ray it lasted around 140 mins i really enjoyed it and will watch it again somedy, with heavenly sword you get around 400 mins(1 play through)of a great interactive expeirence for £12 more than the departed, in my opinion it's well worth it.
But i like games like this and games with good storys, im not far enough to know if its a great story but reviews say its like an interactive movie so that sounds good.
It's worth it to me but it may not be to you, if your somebody who will only play ths once you could rent it beat it in a day or two and send it back keep your money for something else, its really up to your taste's.

Yeah i agree if anybody beats this game in 5 hours they are just rushing straight through which is a waste in my opinion, it took me around 25 hours to complete bioshock but my friend didnt explore anything and just ran straight through the game and finished it in around 18 hours, which i think is a waste.
But i suppose its there purchase and thats how they like to do it.
P.S
yes gears can be beaten in around 8 hours but gears has an amazing multi-player mode, and the game can be played through again on co-op in hardcore which will take at least around 12 hours, you cannot run and gun in hardcore, so that makes a big difference, playing gears you could easily put in 100-200 hours over the year, i very much doubt anyone will even put in 50 hours playing heavenly sword, just my opinion on why gears scored higher than heavenly sword if thats what you ment.

The only reason i'd think he is lying is if he is saying he is still on his first play through and has put in 14 hours and still not finished it, i dont believe that for a second.
But he could be playing it again on the hardest diffuculty and be notching around 14 hours without finishing his second play through.
its not THAT short. its exactly what the review says, a perfect action movie.Rfom was shory imo me and my cuz completed it in 5 hours co-op superhuman no joke but its an amazing game with lots of replay value. im not 2 sure if i will buy HS and i cant rent it
but then again, gears was short. did that matter? no.

yea man its def. worth it, and no its NOT as short as they say it is, yea its a short game but not 6 hr short like every lil troll says it is, anyways its worth it man and ive been playing 6hrs already, and its amazing , action, graphics, cut scenes. man the only way u can experience it is if u bought it OR if u still not sure RENT it for 7 bucks if u like it go buy it, but im tellin u man i havent looked back, every purchase i made i was happy with.
P.S gears of war was hella short, u dont see anyone complain now did ya?

I mean no disrespect to Heavenly Sword, but that is a very silly thing to say. Yes, the campaign of Gears is short, but the single player is also playable co-op online and system link. Not to mention the games normal online play. This is not a good comparison at all. You cannot compare the two games yet completely ignore the fact that Gears has co-op and online play because you would be leaving out 2/3rds of Gears of War, and that makes this comparison pointless.
I am with you on that!! Amen!
Even those without jobs, where all they do is play games all day long, should we really consider their opinion on games, specifically the gamers that cry out that this game is too short? Of course it's going to be short because you practically locked yourself up in a room and played it till your thumbs sore.
I just bought it today. I know i wont beat it in 7 hours because i do have something called a Job so i wont spend hours and hours on it every day.... M_Fresh
is there unlockables and certain stuff to do after beating it the first time around?slipknot86_1
yes there are multiple parts per chapter and each part you can earn up to 3 glyphs. The more glyphs you earn the more stuff you unlock like animation, making of videos, artwork etc.... I think there are a total of about 129 glyphs you can earn. its a nice reward system that I think will give the title some actual replay value for a single player game. I played Bioshock and loved it but now that I'm done, I have no desire to play it again.
I just started the second chapter and so far I'm loving this game.... I highly recommend it, short or not. If you bought God of War 1 or 2 and didnt regret buying it because its short, then you should buy this game. I like having a game collection so Heavenly Sword is definately a nice addition.
