Yes there will be different items you can buy, using real money. furniture, different houses altogether, clothes etc. But you will get a large selection of free stuff to choose from off the bat.

It would be cool if like Sony was tracking the people on their boards and then the people who were Beta testers could get like some free expensive clothes. Even though my stats aren't impressive on the Sony forums, and though I was not a Beta tester for Home lol.

There will be free stuff, but you can buy things. I think you can get free things with the games taht you own.
