SO there has been a giant construction project going on around where I live, there literallybreaking streets and Huge pipes and trucks, but only like 2 days ago the have been getting closer and closer to my house/street. Right now they are like 2 streets away and my house vibrates really hard. Like the things hanging in the walls vibrate and shake a little, the plates in the cabinets vibrate everything vibrates. Its really not that big of a deal even tho he vibration is pretty hard for 2 streets away.

So I was wondering, I have a 40gb PS3 that has fan problems, you know I put a game in and the fan sounds like a leaf blower. SO do you think it safe to play with the vibration going on? I think it might mess up my PS3, like maybe it would break the disc reading laser or something. Im scared I might be playing a game and the vibration might mess up the game spinning inside the PS3. Is the any thing I can put my PS3 on top of thats is vibration proof, like Jello?

If you live in America or Canada, I would sue the people or complain or something I wouldn't take that bullsh**. And the PS3 is a pretty heavy machine so I don't think it would matter all that much.

i dont think vibration is ur main concern. w.e they doin might ( if they mess up that is) u might get a black out or they might knock out some sort of wiring or somethin that the next 5 blocks or so might be without electricity. id be worried about this more than the vibration. this happened to my friend....they were doin their thing and next thing u know he was out of electricity for the next 2 days. nothin happened to his ps3 but still.

Your ps3 got hit by lightening and you're worried about it vibrating to death? You may be under-estimating the resiliency of your console....

Sue? How can you sue for construction work? Anyway yeah vibrating would hurt the xbox more than PS3 as the xbox has the disc munching feature built in, so you should be ok even if they get closer, btw strangest thing is the further away you are the more they will vibrate so chances are by the time they are 1 street away the vibrating could actually be less... Happens in opencast mines where people onsite don't feel the explosives vibrating them yet the next town gets things falling off shelves... Just nature at it's best.

The PS3 uses a hard disk drive and a blu ray optical drive. As with any type of drive, it is not advisable to move it while it is operating. This can cause scratches and irreversible damage to the platter (or the disc for the blu-ray). I'd say that if there is enough vibration for the PS3 to actually move some, don't do it but if it's just a little rumbling that you can barely feel, it should be fine.

I wouldn't worry to much. There was a person on here about two years ago that took his system over to the war zone in the middle east and even with all the battle scares he said the system was still going strong. I haven't seen him one the forums for a long time now.

Maybe he was just lucky? I'd just hate for a head crash (pix related) to happen to the poor guy just because some people thought he would be fine (reminds me of walmart employees).

Well first of all if you don't want to break your hdtv, ps3 and computer you should buy a back-UPS.

You pay taxes for them to do this, so cant sue someone for doing what you basically want them to do.
