Id hope so...I just picked mine up last week and love it!
I also checked to see upcoming games and theres a plenty!
go for it man!
Yes, it is; just make sure that you get games such as Crisis Core, Burnout Legends, God of War CoO, GTA Vice City Stories, Metal Gear Solid Portable Ops, and Daxter.knightSquall17
Why "Vice City Stories" over "Liberty City Stories"... anyone? Reasons? Does VCS take place in the 80s again with that bad music?
I've been wanting a PSP for a while now, and I'm not sure if it's still worth it to buy one. Also, is the PSP nearing the end of its life-span?Calfour
Yeah, now's the best time than ever to buy a PSP. The God of War PSP Entertainment Pack is the best to start out. You get God of War: Chains of Olympus, Superbad UMD, 1gig memory stick, PSN vouncher for Syphon Filter: Combat Ops PSP, and the limited edition Kratos silkscreened PSP.
I bought it because of the portable video playing abilities. I needed that for my digital storyboards in film making and I tell you now that it is absoloutely perfect on set.
The games are awesome too. Especially Patapon and Puzzle Quest but of course this is only the beginning for PSP. There are plenty more games to come and the best thing about this little bastard is that you can use it with a PC. Once a PC gets involved, then skies the limit.
1. Most folks who tell you a system is dying are pulling that information from a dark smelly un-wiped part of themselves... the system is alive and kickin' and Sony as well as the rest of the developer world will be making games for it long into the future (comparitively), just look at the PS2 which came out in 2001 still being supported, and it doesn't even support wifi or web surfing... it's a paperweight, and yet it still sells hundreds of thousands of units every year... PSP is the same deal - Sony has just recently broken into more of the market with what some people have dubbed their "Little Failure" - They need to keep selling units and games to make their money back, so have no fears...
2. There is no memory card with the GoW Bundle, however you do get "SuperBad", which is not nearly as funny as anyone tells you, they're just high. Oh, and the Kratos face marrs the limited coolness of the game unit in my opinion, unless you're a REALLY big GoW fan... I s'pose it could happen...
DEFINATELY GET ONE!!! I can not emphasise enough how good they are! I play my PSP more than my PC or my PS2 or Gamecube! It's soooo addictive, the games are excellent, you can store and play music, videos, photos, images ...etc.]
You can also download games for Free for PSp if you also download the correct firmware! I wouldn't recommend a slim psp because i have read that they break easier and they aren't such a big improvement to the original at all.
Even if the PSP doesn't seem to have many exclusives in the future, there's still plenty of games already released to get. ;)

you forgot those two megaman games for the PSP. Powered Up and Maverick Hunter (I think that's what it's called).

and you also forgot about dragonballZ 1 and 2 , yu gi oh 1 and 2 :)
I got my PSP a few months back, and since then they've been pumping out new games and features at a steady pace. In the near future we'll be getting options to make our PSP's have cameras and GPS and several other options. PSP's just keep getting better, especially if you're a PS3 owner.
I've said this before. Don't limit yourself to choosing just a few games. Look at about 10/20 and pick the one of your favourite genre or look at which got better reviews. :)
When i got my PSP i got 2 games with it. I think that is a better idea. Because then they will both have longer lifespans because you will be alternating your play of those games and so it will be hard to get bored of one because when it starts to get dull you can switch games. It's common sense. ;)
Weell, lots of PSP games are Hybrids or adaptions of PS2/Xbox games. So, if you have or have played any good PS2/NGC or whatever console games and you like them, then look for a PSP version or similar game for the PSP.
When i got my PSP i got two games free with it. Where you get it may have that same offer but i'm not too sure. If it is then stick with the games which come with it but maybe trade one in for a different game of your choice and keep the other which came with it. That way you can get a game you know u will enjoy and a game which you may have never played before and so it makes things more exciting. :) Yes, i am very weird but i'm right!
benboz i am shocked! I have had my PSP for over 2 years...almost three but i am no way near bored of it! I never cease to find new brilliant games for it. They just keep coming and i can't get enough!
Plus: The psp is the greatest Portable Console ever released! It's better even than the Playstation 2 which isn't even a portable console!
jw_burrell, this may be a bit of a shock for you but: The PSP has got a camera. You just need to buy it. It can also get microphones, MSN, Itunes, radio, internet (already has it and therefore it also has email), can play ps1 games, can play old pc games, can play videos, can play music, can store photos, u can change the themes, You can connect and play them on your computer screen, can play converted GBA games...the list is endless! There's even this feature which will allow your PSP to be used as a guitar tuner! But yeh, you are right! The psp isn't dead...it's far from it! It's easily one of the most superior platforms out now. :) All it needs is a mobile phone feature and perhaps slightly better graphics and suddenly you have a PC, a PS2, a Mobile, Guitar tuner, and loads of other stuff crammed into one pocket sized beautiful peice of machinery. It's not far from being perfect.
