I'm just wondering if it would be to late into this generation to go pick up and buy the playstation 3 or should i just hold off on spending $300 and spend it when next gen begins. The reason i ask is because my fourth xbox is breaking down again and i'm tired of dealing with it. Also how is the PS3 controller for shooters and is it true that if the disc is blu-ray it won't scratch as easy?
Try not to flame i know i should be googling but i just want to hear some user based opinions.

I don't think it's too late in the generation, due to the PS3 life still has years ahead of it ..
I enjoy the PS controllers a lot, but that is just personal opinion ..
I don't know if the disc itself is harder to scratch per-say .. but the Blu-Ray reader can pretty much read any disc, no matter its quality ..
Now don't just get a PS3 because your Xbox keeps breaking, because there is a chance your PS3 will break also .. I think some people try to convince themselves that the PS3 can't break, yet they fail to realize that it is an electronic and it can happen ..
Don't let me scare you away as the chances are much slimmer, and you won't go through four, that is for sure ..
Get one, and then buy Resistance and Uncharted with it .. :)
Nah dude Blurays are definitely harder to scratch (and to stop from working)
1. They are multilayered, Pretty much impossible to damage both with one scratch.
2. Bluray layers are much less sensitive to scratch
3. Bluray discs have and extra hard scratch coating not included one DVD's.
And, I think you should get a PS3. Its not too late too get into this gen of gaming.
