Is it too late for the Vita already?

Hello, as a happy Vita owner just wrote a little about it on my blog ... http://second-gen-gamer.blogspot.co.uk/ - Give us a read.

Would be great if you guys could have a read and see what you think. No profit, completely amateur.

Thanks in advance, feel free to comment etc...

I read your blog. Congratulations and keep the articles coming.

My brother has a Vita, It is ok I guess, but it is locking games titles, and the graphics are nothing out of the ordinary. Also the price is high. I will only get a Vita if someone gave me 300, and I still would think about it.

I commented with my take on the situation. I'd appreciate it if you'd add my blog to your feed. We seem to have similar goals, and I'd do the same.

No I dont think so, the ps3 was in a much worse position at the same time in its life cycle and look at it now. I dont know why gamers are so jaded now. They move on from on thing to the next before theyre done with the product/game. How many games have you finished this past year?

I read your blog and enjoyed it. Great article!!!

I'm quite a completionist gamer and have finished the stories at the very least of GR Future Soldier, Skyrim, Mass Effect 2 and 3, Uncharted 3, Journey, Walking Dead Ep 1 (not exactly a challenge), Batman Arkham City, GOW3, Lara Croft GoL, Assassin's Creed 2 & Brotherhood, Uncharted Golden Abyss, COD Black Ops, Shadow of the Collosus, To The Moon and LBP 2 in the last 12 months. This does worry me that I spend too much time gaming of course. I have a few games on the go to finish off too but tend to stick with a game until the story is done.

I can see your point about moving on too quickly, and I won't give up on the Vita yet, but I am worried for its future more than its present.

Aaron, I tried to follow your blog but I don't currently use Google+ and couldn't find somewhere to subscribe by email. Happily have a read of yours when you write.

Actually it was rhetorical question about how many games you completed. Still Im the same way, ill play a game until i finish it or if i quit then i never look back. I usually will play 3 games at one time (1-PC, 2-PS3, 3-Handheld).

The current future isnt exciting, but MGS HD collection and Gravity Rush come out Tues. Later the month is the Vita app and psOne compatibility. Although they didnt focus on the games during the conference, if you search e3 coverage on a lot of the smaller ps sites youll see plenty of the games that were on the show floor. Some that im very interested in are Persona 4 Golden, Lil King Story, Guacamelee, OddWorld' Strangers Wraith, Sine Mora, Jet Set Radio, and the list goes on and on.

Here are some of the games I beat in the past 12 months --- Metro 2033(PC), BTTF, Crisis 1&2(pc), Journey, Rayman Origins, Unit 13, Super Stardust Delta, Mutant Blobs Attack, SWTOR (to endgame), Sly 1, Saints Row Third, God of War 1&2, Battlefield 3 (pc), Uncharted:GA, Skyrim, and a few other PC games but I dont have my steam account up

I feel like list the games you've completed in the past 12 months is a forum post that could take on a life of it's own.

Shame there isn't a way I could put my hundreds of hours of Football Manager in to that (unless you count taking Tottenham to a Champions League win and a few Premier League wins etc... as completing it).

To "follow" a blog, I meant to add it to your feed aggregator. Google reader is one of the most popular, and the one I use. I've added you to my feed, so any of your posts are added to my Google Reader feed.

Don't feel bad, I've only learned about feed aggregators about a year ago. :P It's a great way to keep in touch with a list of blogs or writers you enjoy. I like to have role models as a writer, it keeps pushing me harder. :)

Read your blog - interesting reading and well written. The same thing happened at the launch of the PSP - better graphics than seen on a handheld before, high cost relative to the competition etc and it did well enough overall. To take your comment I remember playing games like NFSU Rivals etc whilst at home and ignoring my PS3 so I understand what you are saying about the Vita.

Was E3 a bit of a let down from the Vita front? Yes. Does the Vita need some "big" game announcements? Again yes to encourage sales. Is the Vita the best handeld on the market? Ignoring cost then yes for sure. I love playing my Vita and will continue to buy games for it as long as they keep coming out.

I just hope we see a decent lineup of games come Xmas!

Thanks for the kind comments. I agree about Vita being the best handheld gaming system and as someone who owns a Vita, 3DS, iPhone and iPad (hopefully no burglars now) it's without doubt my go to portable gaming system. I'm hoping that the right range of games come to the system and would love a few original RPGs (western and Japanese) although happy enough to have Persona 4 coming. Finally, only a few more days until the excellent Gravity Rush.

I think that the 3DS will end up having the better RPG's. But, having Disgaea 3 to start off on the PS-Vita is hands down a great start. Then to follow it up with Persona 4, awesome!

If we get an exclusive, tradtional Final Fantasy I'd actually buy a second Vita just in case.
