Is it true that ps2 games look like duty ca ca when played on the ps3?

I only have a few that I want to keep playing, for example the RE, GoW, DMC, and MGS games. But i heard ps2 games look horrible on the ps3, so should I keep my ps2 or sell it and put the money towards a ps3?

This was an old issue where the PS2 titles weren't upscaled, so they looked like absolute trash on the PS3. However, there was a firmware update that fixed this, and now the majority of PS2 titles will run and look fine.jonnyt61

That's the truth because before 1.7 or 1.8 firmware update (if I remember correctly) the PS2 games really didn't look good at all on the PS3 and it didn't support as many PS2 games (even the 60 gig had problems with some of there games). Then 1.9 really added more depth to the graphics of these games on the PS3.
