I don't think so, my friend plays it on his original PS3 and it works like a charm.

I am also playing it right now on a 60gb PS3 and its going fine.

I don't think there's any truth to that at all. I've put about 25 hours into the game on my 60gb, and things are running perfectly.

I would not worry about it.

My hardcore PS3 friends finished it no problems 60GB & 40GB users.

Well this pretty much sums things up for you, RDR has no problems with the original PS3 models. I'd also like to add that my RDR copy is running very smoothly, and i am very happy with my purchase, and that i pre-ordered it.

I'm playing on a 40 GB fat (2nd generation??). It has been running pretty good, but it has randomly locked up once or twice on me. Luckily, the game autosaves A LOT so it hasnt really been a big deal. Regardless, i would consider it a stable game.
