I have a 32 inch Samsung, and if my HDMI cable went bad or stopped working, i wouldn't play until I got the situation resolved. Seriously. I tried playing over component recently, and it was like trying to get used to playing over composite again. At first I didn't think the gain was terrible substantial, honestly. Only after time and trying to go back to it did I notice that I was completely spoiled by the quality and sharpness of the picture.

If your tv is 1080p its worth it and if your tv isn't 1080p its still worth it. Go to amazon I got Hdmi and Optical audio cables together for $11.

get a 5 dollar one from monoprice.com Those 5 dollar monoprice ones are all I, and a lot of people with high end hometheaters, (I don't have one) have. They are good. Will it make much of a difference, I am guessing it won't, but it might make a small difference. You only have to plug one cable into your tv instead of 3.

HAHAHA! Of COURSE it's worth it. HDMI makes the biggest difference in the word. I use it on three of my TV's, one being a 47'', one being a 37'', and one even being a 26''. USE IT. Oh, and it's as simple as plugging it in and going, no steps or setup. Replaces video and sound all in one in 1080p crispness. Ahh, I love HDMI.

Yes... It improves details in blacks and gives a richer color palette. Other then that its debatable... Also 1 plug verses 5 plugs. HDMI $5 to $10 to "your just getting charged" compared to Component $20 to $40...

HDMI is by far the best you'll get and I don't know why anyone would not use HDMI..to me it makes a huge difference.

It's easy to set up. Plug one end in PS3, plug other into TV/Monitor. Go to video settings, select HDMI, done.

Bottom line: If you have an HDTV you need to be using an HDMI cable. They can be had so cheap, you can't afford not to do it.

I've become quite the videophile in my day, if it's not HDMI, it might as well not even be HD.

yes it makes a HUGE HUGE HUGE difference...but is your TV a HDTV or SDTV? because you can have a 100" SDTV and it wouldn't support the HDMI and wouldn't display at HD resolution
