Is it worth buying the psp 3000 now?

I have a DS and a PS3 and i kinda wanted a PSP. but all this talk about a psp at the end of the year and stuff and some screen problems with the 3000's is it worth it?

i know theres some good titles coming out this year, but could this be in preperation so the new psp sells well?

anyway, any views you have would be greatly appreciated :)

I have the same problem. Rumors are that a PSP 2 is being released at the end of the year, but why would they release a PSP 3000 back in October then.

The rumors are just that. Rumors. There has been nothing official, and with all the new games annouced for release this year on UMD, a new iteration seems very unliekly until the end of 2010 at the earliest. I would suggest buying a 3000 now.

I would buy it if i were you. The PSP has very good games, and what if the psp2 doesn't have retro-compatibility?

BLACK looks nicest. I just bought a PSP 3K last week and there is absolutely nothing wrong with the screen. As a matter of fact, the 3000 has something in the screen that helps against the reflection of sunlight. You can see more in the sunlight, but its not THAT effective, good though :D . You also have the option of switching between ( Wide ) which is the new graphics for the PSP 3000 that everyone says looks " Bad " , and ( Normal ) which is the graphics of the PSP 2000. So the 3000 is sooo much better! I'm Lovin It! :D

100% worth it, there are no screen problems... I got one and the screen is perfectly fine. I also have 3 other friends who got one and the screen is perfect. be sure to get ressistance retribution, god of war, socom, and killzone liberation.blooddog28

a I guess I should recomend the psp 3000. I got it and havent had any problems. I f your realy woried get a2000. But a 3000 should work

if you like games like little big planet or rpg stuff you should go for it.

2009/2010 is an awesome year for psp,you'll never regret.

dude i have the PSP 2000 and i am NOT going to get a PSP 3000. it is exactly the same as the 2000 with a built in mic and a slightly better screen. wow. besides even if they do release a new PSP why would they of released the 3000 when they did, and there are som many good psp games at the moment i am going to play them all before even considering another psp. IOW_Stealth

We're not gonna see a PSP2 for at least another year and a half, minimum - I would say you should absolutely pick one up now. There's too many great games out there, and since backwards compatibility in a PSP2 isn't guaranteed, you might miss out on this generation of titles entirely.

Personally, I'm waiting for LBP portable to come out, just because I'm curious to see how they're going to make that work. In the meantime, I'm playing a LOT of MLB 09: the Show on my PSP right now; it's crazy addictive. The best portable baseball game on the market right now, IMO - if you pick up the 3000, I'd recommend it as one of your first games.
