LOL...i COULDN'T HAVE SAID IT ANY BETTER MYSELF!!! Anyway....if you want it for games, You should wait, but if you want it as your main media hub it is worth every penny now!!!
Check out the lineup and see for yourself. Watch the videos, the pictures and read as many previews as you can find.
If after that you still have specific questions about games currently out or coming or about the system itself, come on back here and ask. Otherwise, it's usually just best to look at the lineup and judge yourself.
No dont waste your money due to the new 360 elite coming out hear me out
PS3- 60gb memory, blu-ray, sixaxis controller, some good exclusives
350 Elite- 120gb memory, hd dvd, listen to music while playing games, online, Great exclusives
So why buy the 360 elite? Because it does everything the ps3 does but much better, sure ps3 has blu-ray but hd dvd is the exact same video output. So if you get the 360 elite you are saving $120. You decide my friend!

Id rather pay $50 a year then to play ps3 online omg thats a living hell downloads take 2 hours you are all just sony lovers who cant stand it that 360 elite will shut the ps3 market down hell halo3 itself will do that but i gotta scram otherwise gamespot will boot me NUCKAS!!!!zerosoljaGet a grip my man! Be realistic, please. I did not say anything bad about the 360 at all. All I said was that he'd be saving the money, but then he'd have to pay for online. I was just pointing it out so that he can decide which he'd rather have. Also, ps3 online really is not THAT bad; I will give you the fact that downloading things is horrible, but at least now you can do it in the background which means doing it while playing games will not be that far behind probably. The ps3 market is not going to be shutdown, it might affect it a bit, but don't be crazy. Now relax, you 360 fans are so quick to anger and start tirading about how great 360 is just because it is currently doing better than ps3.
Im currently in a debate with myself if the 600$ price tag on this console is worth it (not afraid to spend it) and im not real up to date with the things happening with it. I do have some questions about it so here i go. So is it worth it are all of you guys happy with your's. What are your favorite games on it are they good, very good, ok, terrible. Why are there so many PS3's on the shelves still? And so on I like t hat Sony went for the inovative side for this by making the sixaxis so i like that plus its POWER.......:) so please answer honestly about this console. ty michael_brennanThe honest and best answer I can give you is "not yet". Resistance is alright, the single player is solid, but the multiplayer faces problems of getting a bit stale, and of course (unfortunately) it has a problem with a cheaters. Motorstorm I found to be dull, but your mileage may very. I don't know anyone outside of these forums who actually enjoyed it, but I don't know many people with a PS3. A lot of the talk of the "value" right now revolves around Blu-Ray. Outside of that, it's value as a gaming system is low right now. When will the value be there? Fall / Winter 2007. That's when there will be a few more solid games out, HOME will be available, and a lot of the little bugs will have been worked out with system updates. Not to make comparisons, but I feel *no* system is worth it's initial price until about a year after launch, and the PS3 has only been out about four months. Some my argue "buy into it now" but that's your decision. Will it become worth $600? Yes - give it a year and it will - is it worth that $600 now? No. You're not getting everything that the system has to offer yet. The decision to wait or not... that's honestly up to you. Personally I'd wait until HOME and Little Big Planet are up and running. Those are compelling if you're looking for *innovation* - well, you can't get more innovative than being able to create your own content, right? Games like Warhawk look to take advantage of the SixAxis - that's worth waiting for too - FLOW sorta uses the SixAxis, but I don't feel it offers enough to justify $600 right now. To put my opinion in perspective though, I feel that the 360 Elite is the first time the 360 has become worth the money, I feel the DS became worth the money about a year and a half after launch, the PSP *just* recently became worth the money (with metal gear and ratchet & clank coming out, and God of War coming). So I'm more of a "wait and see guy" I used to be a "buy it at launch guy" and that can be fun too, seeing the latest and greatest feels *so good* because you're going to be blown away by everything. I wait though now, because I no longer get as blown away by launch titles, and I don't feel good buying a system until it has so much to offer that I literally won't be able to try everything out it has to offer for weeks.
I understand that its just i was helping the guy who didnt know what to buy. That is all but all the hatin in these boards has gone upstream. But whatever zerosoljaAre you delusional? lol. I am not "hatin" on you at all. Can't we be friends?
um it doesn't play hd dvd it needs an add on jackass. Get a ps3 dude it has the best oulook right now get resistance. Plus the ps3 is constantly upgraded and getting better stuff. The ps3 will eventually get all the best stuff from jp. plus ps3 has free onlineNo dont waste your money due to the new 360 elite coming out hear me out

[QUOTE="zerosolja"]And then paying it back for online. I have become a 360 fan lately (thanks to Elite) but I still contemplate the PS3. I think they will have something different to offer. I don't agree with people (like Insomnia) who think the PS3 will "win" this generation - I think it will be very close, and that this generation is (unfortunately) going to be very rough for everyone, even the Sony fans. Basically *no one* got the hardware perfect, everyone had a different idea of what was "next gen", and it won't be until the PS4 / Xbox 720 / WiiVanced that all the technology and formats (480p / 720p / 1080i / 1080p) will get ironed a bit more. I mean, we've gone from "this console hooks up to your TV" to "oh snap, no, that's the wrong kind of HDTV... oh dude, no, you need at least a 5.1 system or this is not gonna work" and Sony is *just* introducing their real online platform (HOME). But the TC asked "is the PS3 worth it" - not "should I buy a 360 or a PS3?" - he wants an answer on what features the PS3 offers. This isn't systems wars. The PS3 offers a lot of potential right now, I think the worst thing about it, and I think PS3 owners will agree, is that it will basically be another six months (or more) until we really start seeing a lot of the best things Sony has to offer coming out. I don't think it's worth the purchase right now unless you plan to utilize Blu-Ray, that's just me. Sony is making big advances in their online platform, but it's going to take time. You're putting yourself in the same position early Xbox adopters put themselves into. The system got better over time, and I think the PS3 will too. I would not be surprised if HOME was considered a great online service, controllers had rumble again, and there was a hit online game on the PS3 in, say, two years. And when that happens, I will pay my $600, because I want to be a part of that. For now, I'm thinking and weighing the Elite vs the PS3, so I'll be interested in what others have to say.No dont waste your money due to the new 360 elite coming out hear me out

Hahahaha! Oh man...Why do you hate so much? I guess the key to really pissing off 360 fans is just to be nice to them. I never said one thing about sony being great or 360 being terrible. I never said one thing about sony being great or 360 being terrible. Some people need to relax and go with the flow. You, my friend, need a beer. I'm a 360 fan. I like it when PS3 fans are civil. We see the worst of both sides all the time (and in all of the forums), honestly. I think Elite proved that the we can't let Sony / MS / Nintendo divide us as consumers. They would rather see us war (and pay higher prices) than band together and lower their profit margins. The competition between PS3 and 360 is going to be really good for me (and you). Sony fans are going to get awesome online as Sony tries to stab LIVE, and Xbox 360 fans are going to get awesome games as Microsoft pushes for multiplats that formerly were only on the PS2 last generation. But competition between us... and unearned loyalty are mistakes. Sony earned their early adopters through two generations of success, MS earned their early adopters through a proven online system (LIVE) and is now earning their "second and third waves" thanks to hit titles. Sony is about to hit (I'd say this fall) their second and third waves of adopters with HOME, Little Big Planet, and a host of game releases. That's why I'd say to someone not interested in being an early adopter to wait it out a bit longer if they're worried about getting a lot of *bang* the day the buy their PS3. Other people like to have the console and just wait it out, that's fine too, it's just not how I like to do things.I have become a 360 fan lately (thanks to Elite) but I still contemplate the PS3. This is a PS3 board, not a Wii board, so I'm going to refrain from commenting on whether or not that is the right choice. I'll just say this - the Wii and the PS3 are both in that same stage of their life. You're going to be waiting for the best to come with the Wii too. What to do until the best comes is up to you. God of War II and Rogue Galaxy can give you some fun if you're on a PS2 (I'm not sure if you're a Sony fan or not?).Wow this thread has gone a way different direction when last i checked lol :D but i think from what most posters have said have made my concious go towards waiting for this System to release there Bombs and then buy and in the mean time look at the other systems like the Wii which from what im looking at looks like a good *side-dish* but i like everyones comments. ty and im still looking to see which system people prefer even though this is a PS3 board, because im reading people sayin some things about the new 360-Elite.
