if warhawk looks fun to you then you should get it.. or HS or lair or NGS..
If the PS3 is your only next gen system, then yes, it's worth buying now, there is a long enough library of games to get you going and keep you going until some of the good games finally start hitting towards the end of the year and into next year.
If you already own a 360 though, or are planning on getting one, then no, I don't believe there is enough to warrant a purchase of a PS3, unless your really into Blu Ray movies, but if you were, you would probably get a really good Blu Ray player instead of the mediocre and lackluster featured PS3 player.
Way too many of the multiplatform games are inferior on the PS3 right now, hopefully that changes, but right now it's reality. Resistance is good, but overated due to the fact it's one of the only PS3 exclusive shooters that's worth your time.
Anyone that says Ninja Gaiden Sigma is really all that much different from Ninja Gaiden Black on the original Xbox is kidding themselves or trying to feel comfortable in thier 60 dollar purchase of a 3 year old game. Yeah it has some new bits added into it and it looks prettier and they fixed a few issues, but bottom line it is an upscaled version with a patch and 5$ load of DLC thrown in, that's about the jist of it.
There are very few if any truly amazing exclusives for the PS3 out right now, there are several in the pipe, but right now, there is no game that will blow you away, that's just the reality of it, and frankly, anyone that says there is, is a fanboy. Yeah, the system is great, it packs a lot of value, it's worth 600 bucks, and in another year or so, there should be a nice list of really amazing games out there to play, but right now, it's a drastically inferior game library that doesn't warrant a purchase.
Also consider that if your someone who plays with multiple friends and would possibly be buying multiple extra controllers, that by the time the game library starts shaping up, the new controller might be out, and if you go out and buy the system and another controller or 2, you just threw away 100 bucks or more, because no one is going to want the current SIXAXIS controller once the new one comes out.
If I were you, I would try to get one before the 60 gig run o8ut. Get a 60 gig.is it worth getting the ps3 now ir shall i wate a lil longer when there are more games :) ...iv got the money and was gonna get it on release but changed mymind.....i live in the uk by the way :)

I'd say they still have 60 Gigs at Wal Marts still, or best buys. I'd get one of those unless you want to bank on the 80 GB to go down 100 bucks before the year is over. I personally love my PS3 better than my 360, and my Wii. If you for some reason decided to get a 360 (dont do it) at least wait until they fix the RROD problem. But other than that, right now is a pretty exciting time to own a PS3. And of course, if you get a PS3, you have to buy Resistance, it's a rule. jk, but it is awesome.
