Is it worth it to buy a PS3?

I have a PS4, but there are still old games that I want to play. Is it still worth it to buy a PS3 even though I have Sony's newest system?

of course it is, its not expensive and you can play some great games for it.

I think so. I have both systems and I still play the hell out of my ps3. Also you can get preowned games for cheap, and they are only going to get cheaper. So if you have a bunch of games that you missed out on, I would defiantly get a ps3.

I recently got a PS3 for the first time and I am loving it. I find it's simple design and better focus on the games appealing (when compared to the Xbox 360 that I owned for 4 years prior).

Well I used to have a PS3 but I sold it when I got a Wii U. Then I got a PS4 last month.

There is still plenty of reason to pick up a PS3, The system is not going anywhere until at least 2016. There are plenty of titles you can pick up for cheap. You can play titles such as

Sly Cooper

Killzone

Uncharted

Heavy Rain

Tales of Xillia

Dragon's Crown

Ni No Kuni

God of War

Infamous

Super Stardust

Jouney

Puppeteer

Beyond Two Souls

and so on.

Worth it, but don't go spending full price on one new in my opinion unless you have a hole burning in your pocket. You can find some great deals on eBay or hell - you guys in the States even have pawn shops. Should be able to pick one up for a few hundred dollars. So worth it.

The release of the PS4 has actually spurred me to dig deeper into the PS3 library. Been playing a lot of great games lately. Hunt around in some stores, you may be able to find a dusty bundle selling for cheap or maybe some fool parting with his console and games way too son.

And of course all the PS One games available on the PStore.

Even if you're only looking for exclusives there is still a lot of value to get from a PS3.

Buy a PS3 if you have spare cash, it has built a solid library over the years, plus you'll get some "free" games with your PSN Plus subscription, and the games they offer on PS3 have been pretty stellar.

Dude, the PS3 isn't just worth getting, is the best console available right now, lol. That's including the PS4/X1. No console, older or newer, has as many multimedia options, features, and all the great games that PS3 has. The Playstation 3 is where it's at my man.

Yes since the PS4 is not B/C with PS3 games. A new PS3 cost's $169.99. so if you really want to catch up on PS3 games now is the time. This is the best time to pick up lots of games used. Sony will support the PS3 for another 3 years. So you will have lots of games new and old to play.

I can't believe you haven't got a PS3 yet, especially with how cheap they are these days. It's a good starting point to get you hooked on the Sony brand, just play some of the exclusives and you'll be begging for a PS4 ;) haha

A ps3 and psn+ and your pretty much set. You don't even need to buy games. Then sometimes there are good sales and u can get games for a few bucks

Its definetly worth it. Especislly if u havent played a lot of last gen games. Besides sony has great PS Plus deals. And u get a lot of good free games every month. U can probably get a PS3 for a good deal now. Id definetly recommend.

It's still worth buying the PlayStation 3 even though it's almost eight years old in its life cycle, and there are still games available to purchase both physically and digitally.
