Is it worth trading in my old PSP for a slim one?

I only use my PSP to play MLB the show and nothing more, but the new hot shots golf game just came out and i plan on getting it and playing it for a long time, and i would love to have a lighter and brighter psp. But would it be worth it if i traded in my old psp (which i have had since launch night) and pay the difference for a new one?

Thanks.

well its is lighter brighter and you can play your movies and games on a tv if you buy a cord. My favorite differences between the new one is the load times are sooo much better!!!!! i would say yeah!

I've almost decided to wait and get the Madden bundle so I can get the blue one (and by looking at my avatar you can tell I already love the NFL) so I think this will be worth it for me.

Here is some personal reviews I have

I own a phat psp and Ive handled a slim one as well. Maybe ill be inclined to the phat one because im jealous =p

1. Slim psp has the speakers in front! which is great! everybody knows that psp has **** sounds and putting it face up to the user is a good improvement.

2. I find the directional buttons to be jutting out a little, like a fake ps2 controller. So if you are fussy like me, it gets annoying

3. Psp slim is slimmer and ligher......duh....easier on the hands

4. The finishing on the back of the slim psp is this 'shiny' plasticy thing, which IMO, looks cheapo compared to the phat one

5. The analog stick on the slim psp seems to be jutting out a little. Which made me conclude that when they made the psp slimmer, they didnt really alter the height of the buttons.

6. Many of the latest accesories are coming out for the slim one now....so you might be a little left out if you stay with the phat.

Thats my own personal review =)

why dont you trade your old games for a psp slim instead of tradeing your old psp .. lol . i traded 3 of my old games and bought a psp slim for $70 this friday .. and i still have my old psp which i got since launch too ..and to tell you the truth i still use my old phat psp more than useing the new psp slim :P

I think you shouldn't. Unless something uber comes out and only for the slim.

The slim has double the ram and tv out feature, so if you gonna use the net or want to use external tv then get the slim, if not then keep your phat!

I'm in the same position. As much as more memory for faster load times tempts me, I'm paranoid when it comes to the fact that it feels cheaper. Personally, if it wasn't for the quicker load times, I'd much rather the phat.

If you already have a PSP then what is the point in wasting your money on an upgrade that is more or less the same. Besides I prefer the feel of the phat one than the slim one. Fits better in your hands :)

If i was you i wouldn't bother. Because lots of the inside parts have been removed to make it slim and so if you were ever to drop it it would break far more easier than the original.

I guess it's better in a few aspects but there isn't much point.

Maybe if the psp you have were to get bricked or was in disrepair then you might want to consider buying the slim. :S

i don't know.

Good luck with your choice though. :D

just keep ur old one the new one is cool but its also got problems like i noticed that when u press buttons the psp makes a noise like its made out of cheap material and the joystick doesnt feel as good and if u drop it once u will probley break it. and it being brighter doesnt really help becaus eyou dont need it that bright

With all of these "No don't do it!" responses, I'm leaning towards not doing it.

I appreciate everyone's input.

ok here is what i gotta say. since all u basically want is to play games then there is no point in trading it in. the lightness and slimness is cool for like the first week but after that, u get used to it and then it will feel normal, not really light anymore. sure the slim is upgraded but from what i think, it's not worth it getting a slim if all u want to do is play a few games
