Just like any other FPS, if people get really good at it they won't want to try new ones that come after. So, yes, just like any FPS it will always be around to some degree. People still play Call of Duty on pc. There are still clans for Armagedtron for christ's sake lol.
dunno if killzone 2 will be played for a while since modern warefare 2 is coming out i know ppl will be on that like crazy but its still a amazing game i would buy it, i can say that killzone 2 will be played till nov
there are still people who play COD4 and Resistance: FOM
so yeah, KZ2 will be played for lots of moths for sure :)

You forgot that warhawk still has a very active community. Anyway yes, ppl will be playing Kz2 for a while. I know i still have plenty of medals to earn even though I have general and I have yet to get into the clan scene yet and GG has dlc on the way. I am hoping for coop like R:fom or gears horde mode, somewhere down the line. I also want to see GG bring back some of the awesome maps from KZ1 in hd glory
lets hope they keep bringing in new ideas to multiplayer so it never gets boring like. new maps, new games, and maybe a prestige like system where you can unlock more weapons or start customising weapons atleast. because all im playing for now is my status on the leaderboards

Some people have or are investing a considerable amount of time into the game. I know I am and not just on MP but on SP too, I'm going through on my 3rd go. Also MP imo is just warming up. There's DLC to be announced tonight :D
Yes it will be. The game is already fun, then there are the classes, ribbons, clans, tournaments and future DLC is coming shortly there is a showing of the DLC tonight 12:30 am on gametrailers. Killzone 2 will last and it is a good online game.

Man COD purists will buy any COD game no matter what.
Most games stay active for a hile after release, at least the good ones. But I reckon the number of people playing KZ2 online will dip significantly very soon. I know I stopped playing the game a while ago.
I've just stopped playing since last Monday; people will carry on to play it but tbh it does become repetitive after 30 hours or so online. Guerilla Games better add 'Hardcore' modes like in COD otherwise I'm ditching it for Socom...
I saw my friend playing Killzone 2 and I think that this game can hold strong for players just like how Call of Duty 4 is. If people continue to play this game for the upcoming months till fall, there could be a major clash when Modern Warfare 2 comes out.

Which game doesnt get repetitive after 30 hours online? I have spent more than 105 hours online and i'm still loving it. mainly the clan tournaments. They get intense and ur heart starts beating faster cause u really get into the clan tournaments. So yeah people who are in clans and play tournaments will play this well beyond 7 months or 1year. Heck even people who dont play tournaments will still play this alot
I highly doubt I'll be playing anything else when it comes to Online FPS game until probably M.A.G. arrives.
Killzone 2 is pretty much the best multipayer FPS game for me at the moment. It easily replaced Team Fortress 2 and COD 4 in my case which are both great games. ;)
